RE: Ranking of Alabama Colleges by Admission Requirements
Well, yeah, you're right, it's not correct. The link you posted is "hardest colleges to get into" not a "Ranking of Alabama Colleges by Admission Requirements"
60% of their score is based on acceptance rates. that's influenced not just by how picky a university is, but also how many people apply
at the end of the day, there is not a whole lot of daylight between 4 year universities in the state. it's mostly a numbers game and Alabama and Auburn are going to have the most applicants and therefore reject the most

15. Alabama State
16. Alabama A&M
17. West Alabama
18. UAB
I just looked at the results for a few of the colleges ranked higher. This list is pretty bogus since it places a huge emphasis on acceptance rate versus testing scores. I would recommend commenting on the Al.com article that linked this, but the article was written by the Queen of Click Bait. Best to just ignore it.

RE: Ranking of Alabama Colleges by Admission Requirements
This survey purports to measure the "HARDEST to get into" So the acceptance rate would be the largest factor. Which as areadynoted is a pretty bogus way to ranks schools.
On the more reliable raw test scores UAB is ranked as tied for sixth with spring hill. UAT, BSU, AU UAH and Samford all ranked higher

One must remember when comparing post secondary schools by admission numbers that, at least in Alabama, no school admits any student unless it has an existing accommodation in an existing classroom. There are NO "portable classrooms" at any state public PS school like is common at many public K-12 schools across the state. I don't know the current count, but Shelby County K-12 schools had dozens of such classrooms in recent years.

When admissions are based on demand, then you will get the need for additional space resulting in the use of portable classrooms. The AU registrar was quoted after AU had a good year in FB that applications more than tripled, but that admissions would not be greatly increased. Post secondary has the power to "slam the door in your face" whenever they want. K-12 cannot do the same as Shelby County schools can attest. That is why comparing admissions at that level is pointless since post secondary schools do not care to take students they don't have to take.
