RE: WAC offseason transfer thread
Just found he has recommitted to UW. He will have to sit out 1 year.

RE: WAC offseason transfer thread
George Mason sophomore forward Danny Dixon is heading to UMKC per Jeff Goodman. Doesn't play a lot but he is a 6'10". Would've loved for CSUB to get a big man like him. With the lack of big men in the WAC it seems like a good get.

UMKC getting Danny Dixon is a nice boost for them. He will play a significantly larger (pun intended) role for the Roos.

Portland F Gabe Taylor will be transferring to Cal Baptist. Averaged 11.6 ppg and 5.5 rpg. On paper it seems like a great get for CBU and another former D1 player. He will sit out this year and play for CBU's first season in the WAC in 2018.

When Cal Baptist joins the WAC in 2018, they might already be a middle of the pack program. I will be surprised if they finish last right out of the gates.

Yeah they probably won't be last. I think UMKC will be the bottom feeder when Chicago State probably leaves and CBU joins. All the other schools though are heading in a very positive direction especially Seattle. CBU seems like they will be a great addition. Their new arena looks very nice as well. Plus the Lancers is a sweet name haha

Any reason that a D1 player transferring to a D2 would sit a year? I thought moving to a different level meant you were immediately eligible?

Really? I didn't think that was a rule. I could be completely wrong.

I do think if you move down, you are immediately eligible. NCAA bylaws are confusing sometimes and my accounting homework has kinda fried my brain at the moment.

Interesting a leading player on a D1 team, albeit a bad one, move down the D2. Plus he's a Jr so if he isn't sitting out then he won't even get to play with CBU in D1. Massive respect to those who come to build programs like him and the guys at GCU.

Really UMKC rotates between top four and bottom four. Next season bottom four. Looks like with Dixon following season UMKC will be top four. UMKC has a nice homecourt advantage bc of travel, but disadvantages them on the road. Keeps them around 500.

NMSU will be getting a visit from the 10th rated JUCO recruit in 2014. He played at Iowa in 2015, left Iowa for South Dakota. He will be a graduate transfer. He averaged 10 points per game last season for USD.

"IF" NMSU signs Dickerson, he will be a good point guard stopgap for the loss of Ian Baker and the lack of experience of AJ Harris.

I don't know, I think AJ Harris is going to surprise some people next season.

The problem is not talent. It's depth in a uptempo style of play. We need a backup PG who is (or almost) as good as the starter. Ndir should be the one to give us depth at the point. But two years rolling now, Ndir ultra athletic aggressive style of play jacked up his legs (ankle, foot) and has sidelined his development/impact. If he stays healthy all next season, we don't need stopgap transfer PG. But Sidy, Marlon Jones, and Bollo Gnahore have been our walking wounded since they've arrived at NMSU.

I hope not. I hope he gives Jans and NMSU a chance. I don't think NMSU fans should put all their eggs in one basket but I think Harris has the potential to be this team's spark plug next season.
