The only video I could find of him was from when he was in HS and included a picture of him in front of a "what's your wingspan" silhouette of Al Horford presumably at a Hawks' game. Looked like his wingspan was pretty close to Horford's who has a wingspan slightly over 7 foot. So it's safe to say he's got some length.

Seems like we have a solid group of post players for the foreseeable future. De La Rosa (Jr), Frederick (Jr), Pippen (So), A Walker (So), Duling (Fr) then the year after inject Whittington into Pippen and Walker's class. We're going to need some guys to step up but I like the pieces we have in place. I'm hoping to see big strides from De La Rosa, Pippen, and Walker this summer.

Just to be contrary ... would love to see Duling, AWalker and maybe even Pippen drop down a three ... and see a legit big 240-250 pounder to play in front of or behind DLR ...

JHALL ...JGreen and the like can spoil you. ...

I don't think De La Rosa has enough foot speed to play along side of another 240-250 pounder unless that guy can move and stretch the floors. Guys like that don't end up in the MAC. Heck, we struggled when DLR and Hall played together.

I would however, love to see Pippen at the 4 and Duling/Walker at the three next to DLR. I wasn't implying that Duling or Walker will be primarily post players, just commenting that we've got a lot of solid looking post options the next two years.

AGREE... a lot of post options. Just don't see ADR as more than a 15-18 minute player. Need another true big to pair with him, behind or in front of him .. not on the floor at the same time ... Every other position on the team looks to be at least a true two-deep, except the 5.

Not saying others can't -- and probably will -- play there. But If DLR goes down, Kent suddenly doesn't look as imposing.

Ah, lol. That makes sense, I agree. I incorrectly interpreted your first post as meaning another big guy "in front or behind him" in the paint, not in the rotation.

Servicable...yes, with room for improvement. 41% from the field for a 7-footer is lousy, but could improve if he makes the effort. 2.5 personal fouls per game when playing 13 minutes per game will keep him off the floor, but could also improve with a full year with the coaching staff.

The way I see it, there's 40 minutes per game that's wide open, and that will be split between the best of these bigs. If Adonis wants it, he'd make the effort.

RE: 2017/18 mens basketball
I think it is easy to think that what we saw of a player this season is what we start with next season. When looking at freshmen and sophs, I would be disappoint if the summer did not bring on some growth and maturity. Coaching has a lot to do with that progress or lack thereof. ADR at least runs the court well for his size. In fact he transitioned better than JH. He is well coordinated so I am looking for a legit third year player coming back. I know that I have set myself up for disappointment but I will be an optimist. BTW, I expect Peterson to be much improved also.

I see that those two officially signed LOI's. I wonder if Senderoff is still hoping to sign one more, or will keep the last slot open for the November (?) early signing period? If I'm not mistaken, only two are currently scheduled to open after next (2017/18) season and one of those is already apparently taken by Gholston's verbal commit.

Coach Senderoff is doing everything he can to bolster the front court and fill Jimmy Hall's shoes. The final scholarship will be filled by Jonathan Nwankwo a 6'10 245 pounds and a former 4 star recruit by ESPN. He originally committed to Minnesota before enrolling at VCU where he redshirted his freshman year and then transferred to JUCO. This year at the College of Southern Idaho he averaged 9.8 points, 7.7 rebounds, and 1.5 blocks in only 15 minutes per game. He should be able to play right away and have 3 years of eligibility a la Jimmy Hall. 04-cheers02-13-banana04-rock

This is a big pick up. He appears to have moved around quite a bit but we have to be happy that he settled here. Sendy never ceases to amaze me in the way that he can build or transform a team in one year. We are lucky to have him as our coach.

Funny your post.....here is a quote from you that doesn't sound like you feel like we are lucky to have him. Sounds more like a guy that thinks he doesn't know what he's doing.

I think that he is seeing too late, that he does not have what he thought he had. It is too bad that he allowed the personality of the team to grow into this situation because once it happens, it is difficult to change. We just have to hope that the young talent has not been poisoned by this year's experience. It actually started last season and grew into this season. As to the PG situation, out of high school, Avery was rated as one of the top five PGs in the State. I believe that he could be developed into a pretty good D1 PG, but not the way this team has been handled. I am also concerned about the handling of Peterson. He is a good player with good BB IQ. He is now playing confused and does not appear to be having fun. Watch coach on the side line and it will answer many questions.

Well cleveland, it looks like you got your wish for another big center. Watched some videos on him. Looks like he moves pretty well and has long arms. Similar journey to De La Rosa. Redshirt, JUCO, comes to Kent with 3 years of eligibility left. This will be the biggest team I can remember us having. 7'0", 6'10", 6'9" and 6'9" with another 6'9" redshirting. Then possibly a 6'7" at SF with all of them with at least two years eligibility left. Funny that we just made a tourney run without playing anyone over 6'8" significant minutes in most of the games in March.

If by holding people accountable to their own words qualifies, then I guess not. Report me to the system moderators if you think I am out of line. I bet they disagree with you.

Thanks bopol for the support. Anyone who follows my input over time knows that I support Sendy most of the time. If the quote used for example were put in context, one can see that I did not call for us not to have Sendy as our coach. I can almost guarantee that the sentiments of that post was mirrored by many of our fans that saw the game in question. At that particular time, the team was unfocused and did play like a uncoached team. Many if not most teams will have those lapses. As for the person who feels it necessary to back fish my post and quote it without context, I just have to consider the source. 03-nutkick

I blocked that game out of my head. Oof. That was a bad night.

"We had to play smaller because of that,'' Phay said. "It would have been nice to have him, but the guys adjusted to playing without him. We had to battle some injuries this season. We were down to nine healthy players at one point but that allowed some of our freshmen to step up and play well. We're much better because of it.''"

BTW, I have no problem being accountable for that post. At times I might post something that in retrospect, I wished that I would not have said. The post in question in context was not one of those. I am responsible and accountable so have at it.

There is no "having at it". I am simply pointing out the fact that one day you are basically calling Rob inadequate and/or unprepared and the next day you are praising him.

Let's be clear - you aren't the only one. There were a lot of people that were bashing Jimmy Hall because of a technical or not shaking someones hand and saying things like "he is a poor representative of KSU" or "he's never won a damn thing". Pretty sure a lot of people wanted him GONE after the turnover at the end of the BG game. I recall one comment about how "I can't wait for this team to not have Jimmy Hall". Then after the MAC-T and the UCLA game, the same people were ready to anoint him.

You can't have it both ways. At some point, to me, it is simple. If one night someone says a kid or a coach needs to leave, or is a horrible representative of KSU basketball, or something to that affect, and then a few weeks later they are praising the individual, the real joker is the poster who displays the bipolar personality.

It's not your facts I have a problem with. It's that you seem to think you have the right to tell everyone else on the board what is allowed to be talked about and what isn't. It's that you're allowed to have a negative opinion about someone, but no one else is if you don't like it. It's that you have no respect for anyone else's line of decency, but we all better respect yours.

So, if you are going to go after gflash68, I'm going to tell everyone that you're the little piece of sh!t that won't quite go down when you flush the toilet. I'm surprised you haven't called in your buddy David Carducci to defend your pathetic @ss yet.
