Hoping they look past Derek Schooley, because he seems like he would be a great heir apparent to lead our program down the road.

Berenson is retiring. He wanted to retire after last year, but the AD, Warde Manuel, asked him to stay one more year because he was so new to the job that he wanted some time to look for the next HC.

I thought they were going to get Danton Cole last time. Half expect then to go there this time.

From what I understand, if MSU hires outside the box again, patience with Hollis will be much thinner than it has been. It can't hire a guy who's been out of coaching for as long as he was.

His resume doesn't look as good as it did back then. He's taking a lot of heat for problems (that he has nothing to do with) at his current gig.

MSU needs to do a full blown national coaching search, none of this "hire within the family" garbage. Interview lots of candidates and pick the best one. That's the only way to turn that dumpster fire around.

Stop pining for Gwoz. Blashill would be a good hire, though UM could make a run at him.

Quote:It is 50-year-old Cole’s second stint coaching in Division I college hockey. He was 23-59-12 in three seasons at Alabama-Huntsville from 2007-10 before joining the NTDP.
