Actually i am a conspiracy theorist, and truely believe that some schools seem to get more love than others in many of these games. WMU always seems treated like the red headed step child by the referees. So i'll start my bitching in advance.

100% agree on the ref issue. Some of it self inflicted, some is the aggressive play. I know a few NCAA Refs and Linesmen and there are some lingering issues with how Murray acts in some games (Not an anti-Murray rant, just fact). No official in any sport likes to be shown up, it's an ego thing. A long time NHL coach once told me, "no referee in the history of hockey has ever changed their call by me yelling, so what's the point in yelling and trying to show them up?"

I like to gamble. On just about anything. It's partially a Texas thing. Anyway, I'll bet any of you $5 that I beat you in the pick'em. Reply or PM me and we can make the arrangements.

I think i will sum up our chances like this. "Referee,s will determine our fate" We are a big physical team and when ref's allow us to play physical we seem to have success. This is an NHL AHL WHL OHL USHL and any other junior league kind of team. And they all allow a physical aggressive style of play, as well as a few ncaa refs. The problem is the 60 percent of ncaa ref,s that think the game is about them and there ego,s. If a guy goes down there must be a penalty if someone gets hit to hard there must be a penalty and it's usually the back ref calling the penalty as well , the one who assumes what happened cause he is to far away to really know. I have watched thousand,s of games of hockey live in many different leagues and the constant inconsistancy of reffing is the worst in the NCAA . I watched the UND UMD final game last week live and 60 percent of the penalties were B.S made up calls , so it just ain't against us . Lets just hope this is about the hockey teams and not the referee's . i ain't holding my breath. Go Broncos Go
