RE: 2017 updated roster (media guide 2017)
Any word on incoming freshman OL Kelvin Ateman out of Detroit Cass Tech? Don't see him on the roster.

So, of the 2017 class announced on NLI day, Ateman, Carter, Haslam, Hines, Holt are all missing. That's 5 out of 23 recruits. Not a good percentage. Perhaps some are non-qualifiers who have to sit a season?
There's also greyshirts from last year Ford and Anunike; Bradley (not sure if he was a grey shirt or what, but has been enrolled since January), as well as the punter Flint, and DT Josh Spurgeon. I seem to recall there was also a late announced signing of a long snapper, but I don't see him listed either (can't recall the name).

Dude, it's not about retention, performance, academics, or any of that altruistic "student-athlete" stuff. It only matters that we have the "best class" in the MAC every year, according to Phil Steele.

All five of those guys were some of the better recruits in the class, a big reason why we were rated #1 in the MAC. Would love to know what's going on with them.

let's see if any are in school. sometimes, guys -like treyvon hester- aren't full qualifiers out of HS but come to UT as freshmen students and join the team in their 2nd year with freshman eligibility.

Saw this in Bald article today. Looks like Altman is on the team and doing well in Camp.
BERG SHINES IN CAMP: St. John’s Jesuit graduate Mitch Berg has wasted little time impressing UT offensive line coach Mike Hallett. The 6-foot-6, 305-pound freshman has been a standout performer early on in camp.
“He’s really done a great job of attending to his details,” Hallett said. “While he still has some fundamental things to work on, conceptually he’s really catching on to what we are trying to do. He’s been really good.”
Hallett said freshmen Kelvin Ateman and Woodford Lankford also have done well in camp. “Every guy is fitting his role and finding his pieces of the puzzle,” Hallett said.
