Someone stepping on my grass is a more egregious violation than a guy sitting and then correcting himself and kneeling before a football game. He's put his money where his mouth is on more than one occasion. Jackie Robinson stated that he could never stand for the national anthem as well.

Kapernick's world is not Jackie Robinson's world.
No doubt. HE is just another ******* trying to get some street cred.

Yepper. Free to take a stand but others can too. Maybe should've stuck to "playing" football and leaving politics off the field. He's been Kaepernicked. At least now he can kneel all he wants...

Exactly.

People were beginning to figure him out at the end of Harbaugh's time too. He hasn't been very good for awhile now. I think he opted out of his contract too. People are going to blame the kneeling but in actuality. He just wasn't very good after they had a book on him. D coordinators figured him out. It happens.

I don't think anyone is denying his lack of playing ability is the culprit....it's the piling on statements that rub too many raw....sometimes it's better to keep one's mouth shut and focus on the matter at hand relative to the paycheck....

it's ironic how too many - once paid - become the next coming of hey-zeus and believe the masses should follow...fk'n narcissistic bastards is all they are....it's pathetic how culture is evolving on the screen....

Its not even the statements. But the disrespect to the national anthem when he is at a game "working" is a step too far. Lots of Hollywood performers talk a lot. But not very many do it on the stage (looking at you dumb Dixie Chicks).

As others have already said in the thread, Kaerpinick's antics would have been tolerated - grudgingly - by fans and owners alike if he was one of the top 5 or even top 10 QBs in the league. If you are average or worse, your antics will be judged much more harshly. It's no different than work where the top sales guy can take more liberties on the job than the lowest performing person.

National anthem is not part of the actual game play, so it would not be the same as an actor going off script in the middle of the performance and opining on something political. Your analogy would work if the there is a controversial preview segment that would have to be played before the start of the actual movie.

Spike Lee Rips the NFL teams for not signing Keapernick.

He only brought it upon himself. Through his poor play and kneeling.

Yeah. Probably so. As it is, he doesn't understand he is an entertainer so he shouldn't go giving the middle finger to his paying customers. He's not worth it.

Quite honestly though since he sucks and wouldn't be signed anyway this was a better career move for him than just being out of the league for just being awful. He's made a name for himself outside of the world of football and made himself a polarizing figure, which is far more valuable than just being forgettable. The true opposite of love is not hate, it's apathy, and if he were just a QB that was good and became bad with no controversy he'd essentially be Vince Young. When was the last time anyone brought up Vince Young positively or negatively?

That little wimp Spike Lee watches football? He looks like he should be playing chess with Herkle. Hey, he looks like him too. Sorry, I just can't stand the little turd…along with his buddy Samuel Jackson, both dips.

And Spike Lee is only marginally less relevant than Kaeperdick

Kaepernick brought this upon himself when he did all this political grandstanding and then didn't vote.

I hope someone signs him just so I don't have to listen to the 50 plus female crowd on my Facebook Friends list pretending their boycott of the NFL is what left him without a job, when they have never watched the NFL period to begin with.

Kaepernick's passer rating last year was higher than the likes of Eli Manning, Cam Newton, Carson Palmer, Philip Rivers, and Jameis Winston, despite playing with arguably the worst receiving corps in the league and a bad offensive line. You can argue that he saw soft coverage because the 49ers were so often playing from behind, but it's still a fact. He also led all QBs in rushing yards per game. There are several teams (Rams, Jets, Browns, Texans....arguably the Bears, Jaguars, and a couple others) out there where he would represent an upgrade at QB. He doesn't suck, he just isn't good enough to be worth the hassle. Same as Ray Rice. His play had slipped enough by the time the video came out that no one would take him. If 24 year-old Rice had punched a woman, he would have found work again. Sorry, but Tyreek Hill punching and choking his pregnant girlfriend is FAR worse than Kaepernick kneeling during the anthem, but he runs a sub-4.3 40 and is a game-changer. I think America has a serious problem that so many people are outraged over Kaepernick protesting the anthem, but don't have much of a problem with a woman-beater.

What is the minimum amount of nationalism that you must display to get a job in the NFL?

Kaepernick hates the average NFL fan. Why would any NFL team want to hire somebody who displays such contempt for the customers?
