RE: Keatts replacement
Brian Mull is making a case for King Rice on Twitter. MAAC was 20th rated league this year and UNCW would be able to give him a six-figure raise. Monmouth was top 25 in pace this year in tempo, and they were in the top 100 in off and def efficiency this year. Monmouth was won 55 games last 2 years under Rice; program had 8 consecutive losing seasons before averaging 26 wins the last three seasons.

I wonder if we went with an assistant last time because of the despair the program was in. Now, thanks to Keatts, we can attract a head coach like Rice or Christian. I'd take either.

Either of them would be a home run in my book.

Hadnt thought of the Monmouth coach. His teams tend to struggle in the conference tournament though. At our level that is everything

Hearing Blizzard would like to become an assistant at UNCW in some fashion.

Blizzard needs to be hired if interested. Best ever, hands down, to date, to put on a Seahawk uniform. Also heard he could shoot the 3 pretty well...

RE: Keatts replacement
I'd love Blizzard to join the staff, but it seems unlikely unless we hire Brownell (which isn't happening), or a current assistant. The scenario I see playing out is that we hire a current HC and they bring their current staff, sans the head assistant who replaces the outgoing coach. They'll likely only have one position open, and priority should be given to Siddle if the incoming coach doesn't have someone else in mind.

Maybe BB can catch on as DBO. The university owes him a lot and he WANTS to be here. That is important.

I think he's willing to do whatever. DBO would probably be fine.

Keatts replacement
Did anyone seriously think we would consider Brownell?

Side note... I'm glad his job is safe. Looking forward to that NC State vs Clemson matchup next year.

I think this search will move along quickly and that we will be hearing something sooner as opposed to later. We have known that losing Coach Keatts was a real possibility for some time now.

VCU's Will Wade is the front runner for that job.

He's "a" front runner.

CJ in interview : question, do you plan to be here for the next 2 years, " As of now that's what i plan to do, but we will see what happens". That doesn't sound great

Agree, but in fairness, there is a lot of uncertainty right now. Could mean he's just waiting to see what Keatts offers/school allows in terms of transfer. Or, it could mean, if we maintain style of play, he'll be here.

Nothing official, but Mull gave a list of names that he assumes will be contacted or has heard are in the mix. Jamion Christian, Caputo, Moton, and Wes Miller.

He later tweeted his curiosity in Anthony Grant's desire to get back into college coaching, and listed several reasons why King Rice would be interested.

So, that speculative list is what we've been discussing in the previous pages.

I think many like a list that includes Christian, Rice and Grant, but how realistic any of them are no one knows. Horn is also a guy people seem to agree on.
