I had Jerry for 3 years and the final year was with Brad...I got to meet Brownell a few times through the SID office, and through Larry Honeycutt's coaching class.

I was sitting in Hawk's Nest when a reporter approached and asked what me and a friend thought about Wainwright leaving...we had no idea. I think he had turned down DePaul (or he had at least flirted with them). Couldn't believe that he left for Richmond.
i moved to ILM in 2000, so pretty much the same time frame. Like you many years later, i still care what BB does.

Back then, you didn't even have to have a ticket to get into the game. All you had to do was show your UNSea card and they'd let you in. I know that hosting Princeton in '98 was a big deal, but the program changed dramatically with another BB in 1999.
I had season tickets the first few years upstairs and sat behind the Cheerleaders downstairs every game. Was much easier to get around then

Back then they didn't have as many yellow shirts event staff. It was much more relaxed.

A certain moderator upset a certain VCU coach and it went all downhill

Unfortunately, he just didn't stay long enough to really put his stamp on the program. He saved us from drowning, so I'll forever be grateful for that, but he didn't do enough to supplant Wainwright or Brownell as a "favorite". None of that is speaking to his character. Part of me wants to see him succeed, but I don't care as much about his success as I do Brownell.

that's awesome 04-cheers

Im just glad the administration seems to be packing the student downstairs. Too many times during the Keatts era, I saw students shuffled upstairs when there was a ton of room in the student bleachers and behind the basket.

There seems to be a real, organized student backing of this team rising up for the first time in a really long time

Don't tell me that"certain moderator" was the same drunk student I had to usher out of Trask that night.

I heard that "certain moderator" and his buddy snuck back to their portion of the student section on the other end and watched the rest of the game somewhat still vertical.

You should have escorted one VCU coach out of the building for taking a swing at us though!

Way to drop the ball!

Correction. My incident involved Coach Capell and ODU.

My incident involved Coach Capel too... and his closed fist. Don't worry, he missed though, just like most of VCU's shots at Trask that night.

This was daddy Capel. And he never raised a fist. But he verbally took up for his wife and family. The drunk student was way out of line.

Nothing like going into Trask with a little buzz or maybe sneaking a little into the game. However, sometimes these things can work against us. I remember sitting very close to the woman who threw what I think was a pair of Seahawk sunglasses onto the floor which lead to William & Mary getting technical free throws in a very close loss in Keatts' first year...

A "certain moderator" was never removed from a game. Solo can attest to that.

I thought that was one of those frisbees? Yeah, that stunk. I remember watching that online.

I've been buzzed at a game, but never full on inebriated. Never saw the value in that. While I liked having the buzz, I still enjoyed being able to functionally remember the games.

Wouldn't think that was you I escorted out. Not with what this guy was saying. But, on the other hand, I have been on the other side ol being removed. On ESPN of all times.

Don't know any other way to ask this. So here goes.
Who is Mike Eades (past three time worst official in the CAA) blowing to get to screw up the big ACC games?

You sure were chomping at the bit to post that. Regardless of my opinions of him, congrats on a nice win.
