How dare the university put student safety over football. Maybe this is why we won't ever be in a P5 conference.

im not offering commentary....just stating facts

So, Rudd and Bowen both are blowing smoke about it being moved into the next budget year and be approved by the new UofM board instead of the previous board of regents?

If true and based on where the sports are today, looks like the IPF facility should have been prioritized over the new basketball facility.

The miserables are out in force today. The land bridge has nothing to do with the IPF. Please stop spreading FUD. IPF is paid for by donations. The land bridge is getting builtwith student fees.

Your arguments don't make sense. Rudd can't just shift money around all crazy.

Unsure who you are directing this at, but to be clear I know exactly where the money comes from for the bball facility and IPF as I donated to the campaign.

My comments were specifically aimed to prompt a response from our good friend "b" as to where he got his facts from.

Maybe a certain booster earmarked his own money for the basketball facility ?

But I thought no one cared about basketball any longer, and all the money was going to football? This is all very confusing.

Maybe he don't now after he donated all that money only to see the team miss the NCAA for 3 straight years?

Why? Basketball has traditionally made money, enough money to support football. Football has never made a dime. Why make cuts to your only profit making business model? 05-stirthepot

Maybe so, but it's nothing like the design before - there was a "bridge" with grass & pavers that sloped down into an ampitheatre in alumni mall previously.

That is extremely disappointing. That structure will make an OCS even less likely. It is too small.

LOL

This bridge has NOTHING to do with the physical impediment of an OCS.

This bridge was ALWAYS going to happen. Only thing that's new is the style/design of its northern end.

Twenty feet wide. The land bridge was fifty yards wide? More? Few steps with a vast open area traded for towers of steps and stinky elevators.

This will not unite the two parts of campus. Instead it will permanently create the boundary.

Look at that thing. Wouldn't you rather walk over the tracks? A tunnel would be more functional.

Sigh. Everything is going downhill at once.

You people will b!tch about anything.

YOU CANT WALK OVER THE TRACKS

There is a fence/gate that forces everyone to choke points at crosswalks and soon the bridge that is being discussed here

Take a drive down southern once in a while.

So now there will be only one choke point, 20 feet wide for what, 200 feet?

That's a 17 million dollar choke point.

Moronic. A One million bridge to suffice until something better can be done would make sense. This is literally a monumental mistake.

There will be four choke points (three now) with this bridge.

It LOOKS good. It raises the profile of our university. It serves as a signature project between the new rec facility and the UC, two huge things for recruiting students.
