Coliseum and Wiseacre Brewing
Was reading in the Memphis Flyer today about the Memphis micro breweries and the the guys at Wiseacre said they had run out of room at their current building and were considering the Coliseum. Said talks were just preliminary with nothing firm yet. Anyone else heard this?

You would think the city would be open to anything at this point concerning the Coliseum. Especially one that takes it off their hands.

Last I heard, the guys from Wiseacre had like 90 days or something to do their due diligence before making a decision to move forward. It seems unlikely in my opinion, but that's with no real knowledge of the situation. So take it for what it's worth.

Yes; they had 180 days to get in the building and really check it out to even see if it's feasible. If it is, then the real discussion begins. Their due diligence period was up just a week or two ago, IIRC, so we should be hearing something soon one way or the other.
EDIT: Just ran across this article - they'll decide by the end of this month: http://www.commercialappeal.com/story/ne.../98812444/

From what I recall in the meetings about it, they would be getting the lot area south of the coliseum, essentially. I don't remember if it includes the frisbee golf area across Early Maxwell or not.
However, if they continue with a multi-use idea (climbing wall, bowling alley inside, etc.), they may keep the frisbee golf course in tact.
Anyway, time will tell.

Old news and most of the save the MSC crowd are against the deal. It would make it impossible to ever make it an arena again.

Why does the city need another arena now that Vince McMahon killed wrestling ? Jerry the King Lawler ain't walking through that door and neither is Handsome Jimmy.

You'd be surprised. Jerry Lawler still wrestles on occasions.

Not in any story line worth watching. Plus he might have another heart attack.

Worthy story line or not he could still walk through those doors at the coliseum. Lawler hasn't had another heart attack since the first one and like I said earlier he still wrestles on occasions.
