Is this Fake News? or the extension fake news? Maybe Dollar told the press that he was getting an extension, in the hopes it would force SU to keep him on.

BTW, so much for the Redhawk way.

Quote:Dollar tells another story on himself about a recent meeting with a nationally known sportswriter and network analyst, who asked him if he still was at that small school in Seattle.

When Dollar said he was, the sportswriter asked him, “How are you holding up? When are you going to get another job?” Dollar asked the writer to remind him of that story when Seattle U begins winning conference titles and going to major postseason tournaments. Because Dollar strongly believes that is a matter of when and not if.

“In a couple of years,” Dollar said to him, “I’m going to talk about this conversation with you on TV. I’m going to remind you what you said to me.”

Will Dollar call him up when SU starts winning without him?

Thats quite a 180 from what he said in the latest article about SU and how the current state is about as good as it gets

Would really like to see SU start the search with former Portland State and WSU coach Ken Bone. He currently is an assistant at Gonzaga. Brandon Roy would be a boom or bust hire

It looks real. I definitely do not want to hire his agent for my next contract negotiation.

Some are also saying Trent Johnson is a target for SU. Former HC of Nevada, Stanford, LSU, and TCU. He is from Seattle.

I think the 2nd most famous Ken Bone would be the right man for the Seattle job.

There's no debate: Gonzaga's new assistant is now the second-most famous Ken Bone

Watch for Jason Terry too. Went to local Franklin HS and interviewed for UAB job last year. Interested in coaching

Official press release

Over his eight years, Dollar finished with a 107-138 overall record and 27-49 in five seasons (2012-13 through 2016-17) of WAC play, reaching the championship game of the WAC Tournament in 2014-15.

"However, after thorough evaluation, I have decided that a change in leadership is necessary in order to achieve the full potential of our men’s basketball program.” - new AD Fink

RE: Cameron Dollar fired
Since Dollar's second season as coach, Seattle attendance has been dropping consistently. Even though Dollar brought in some promising young players this season, I think the new AD realized Dollar had lost the fans.

Seattle's attendance under Dollar...

2010: 3,548
2011: 4,614
2012: 2,944
2013: 2,726
2014: 2,193
2015: 2,059
2016: 1,675
2017: 1,405

Yah, in all seriousness, I do too. Best wishes to Dollar as well, wherever he lands.
Now I'm really wondering about that "WAC isn't finished..." comment.

You could weigh it by his statement that he was working on a long term contract with SU.

No reason we cant. Have a very ideal location and facilities on campus. Key Arena is not that bad either, Dollar has said players like it. Especially when attendance was respectable. So many recruits in the area from Vancouver to Portland.

Ken Bone would be a home run hire. That guy turned Portland St who had never made the Tourney into back-to-back bids and one of the better western mid majors. Portland St flopped back into eternal obscurity right after he left. The guy has proven he can build a mid major in the Pacific NW.
