Would have been a hell of a team.

Memphis administration, fans, and staff need to just accept a complete rebuild. Open up roster slots. Get some 4 year players in here and develop them for a couple of seasons. Then add talented pieces year after year.

Under Josh there was some weird stuff going on with player development and moral.

Memphis can't just add grad transfers, jucos and subpar pieces year after year and expect anything different. Cut everyone loose. Get a solid 7-8 freshman. Build them up and add talent around that core. The fans need to just understand and deal with it. This is what it's going to take.

Only other way to fix it, isn't happening anymore recruiting wise. Build from scratch, build momentum, develop players, add as you go.

Win with that core and you can possibly add higher ranked players to mix with them.

Sucks, but I don't see any other way...

Yeah I left a few of them that are currently on the team.

1. King, Kuran, Pookie and Woodson were all Pastner.

Nichols was a weird situation.

Who knows if Marshall would have come back or not.

Also, fwiw there were TONS of transfers during Pastner's tenure here. Maybe you missed them.

He tried to shoot his way into PT. He would have games where he shot once a minute. That's why he is not here.

Danny Hurley was able to handle him though.

Sucks, but I don't see any other way...

It's the way Pearl is having to do it at Auburn. It's a minimum 3-4 year process on top of the 3 years that have already been wasted.

I was hopeful Tubby could take advantage of what he had and build around it so that there would not be a 10 year dry spell for Memphis basketball but I think that train might have left the station.

If this is the path chosen then Tubby might not have been the best choice of coaches since he probably won't be here long enough to stabilize (2 years since he wasted this year) / rebuild (years 3-5) / succeed (years 6-8).
