SMU and Cincy 6 seeds
I'd put money on SMU taking out Baylor right now.
And it wouldn't shock me if Cinci beat UCLA.
UCLA would drill UC
Cinci may not get there, for that matter UCLA may not get there. Strange things happen in tournament time.
It's why we watch.

I'm not defending Tubby because he knew what Memphis was/is when he took the job. He should have known he was going to have to work hard his first 2-3 seasons to make it work and then he could have settled down and just coached because a winning Memphis program gets the players it needs without having to work too hard on the recruiting trail. However, a lot of the problems you see right now were due to mass transfers, and filling holes with players who should not be playing high level D1 basketball. At least not in key roles.
The majority of that is on Josh, Tubby get's a little bit of it but there weren't many players he could have added to help with this season. NIT, maybe NCAA bubble team but it wouldn't have fixed the overall problem. Memphis needs a complete rebuild.
He had the longest Final Four drought of any UK coach. Was he short on talent there too? Whose fault was that? I'm not on the beating up Tubby Train. He is who he is. The talent level will not change. Tubby DOES NOT play the game. I don't want to defend Josh AT ALL. But pleased don't blame Josh for Tubby's results forever.
You do realize that he won the 1998 National Title his first year at UK despite losing 2 lottery picks off the previous teams that were Champs in 96 and Runnerup in 97, right? Or that he went to 3 other Elite 8s and 2 Sweet 16s at UK over the next 8 years. Any other school not named Big Blue Nation would be building statues of him. That being said, I thought he was a bad hire because of his age and the energy level needed to revitalize the program.

This is the first year AP, so absolutely we can blame the majority of this on Josh. All bets are off going forward though

Top 15?
Slow down,
We probably would have made the NCAA , but top 15?
If the entire recruiting class was still here, I think top 15 would be a stretch but it would be possible...
Austin, Pookie, Iverson, King, Crawford, Lawson, Lawson, Martin...Still would need a shooter but that is a solid squad.

He had nearly a 3-1 assist to turnover ratio at LaSalle. He and Charlie Moore had similar numbers this season.

What is this "NCAA tournament" you speak of? I think the Tigers might have gone to something like that back when I was younger.

I thought, Wow! - so I looked it up. Sorry, but he didn't. He had a 2:1 ratio.
In fact, I did a comparison of Pook, Charlie and Jeremiah. For all the complaining we've done on him - and I've done my share - JM came out favorably of the three. JM had the fewest PPG, but the most steals, most assists, best a:to, most blocks, and second most rebounds.
Work this summer on the offensive game plan, shooting, and going right - and he could work next year.

He'll have to unless Tubby has an ace up his sleeve.
