The future is the streaming. Hopefully our commish notices.
Unfortunately it will likely be some time before it is available here. They have to negotiate local channels in each market before rolling out, hence the 5 city launch.

I hope so. Would be nice to get rid of Cox.

I just cut the cord a couple months ago, went with PS Vue. Honestly, the only thing I have missed is CBS.

So it isn't really saving much money, more sweeping sand from one side of the room to the other once you add in all your streaming subscriptions.

Its about a $60 dollar savings still with cox internet and ps vue. PS Vue allows you to stream up to 5 devices/ on demand/ dvr at one time. I cut the cord after Cox cable/ internet reached a little over $200 a month with $8.99 per receiver fee for each tv.

You save some money per month. I use sling ($20/mon) and cancel the subscription between the months of April and September, since I only use sling for sports and I don't watch any summer sports really. Costs me $80/month for really fast internet and TV when you factor in those savings, which is a lot better than the $100+ I'd spend doing it by locking myself in a contract through Cox.

It's interesting you guys are paying $70+ for internet. Do you have a lot of people in the home using it or something? I pay around $55 for Cox's midgrade stuff which is good enough to stream 4(?) devices and play really super intense online games that require fractions of seconds of reaction time, and it works well for me.

I agree. That seems crazy. I'm paying for the 50meg Fios and that + my cell phone is only 100 bucks for Verizon. I have 2 amazon fire sticks, 2 laptops, 2 smart phones, kids tablet. And sometimes 3 things at once streaming and never have a need to upgrade.

It is crazy. I think it is because I canceled cable and "unbundled". I am at 100meg, but only because it was like $5 more than 50meg. There was no option for me to get anything close to what you all are paying. I think it probably also has something to do with the fact that Cox is my the internet option where I live as well.

That's the worst. I really hate that some companies are the only ones available in certain areas. Just sucks not being able to at least have a choice

What's worse is that they did it on purpose. After the telecommunications act of 96' the biggest companies pretty much agreed to divide the country up into regions and stay out of each others' way, essentially giving each other their own small to mid-sized monopoly.

It's due to what Cox offers. Their tiers are something along the lines of the basic package being 10 down 1 up with the next tier being 50 down 5 up. I'm a pretty heavy internet user so the basic tier wasn't going to cut it for me.

This is a massive upgrade over ASN's coverage. I can watch the game no matter where I go? Hell yes!
