Getting UCSD would be such a coup for the WAC.

I think realistically the WAC can only hope that the Big West tells UCSD that they need to get their athletics up to D1 standards before joining the BW, and that they would be looked upon favorably should they reapply in a few years.

Then UCSD might be willing to move to the WAC for 4-5 years.

Cal Baptist will be a great add I think.

Tritons won 84-80, face #6 Chico State Wildcats on Monday Night for a chance to advance to the D-II quarterfinals. UCSD has a decided advantage hosting the first three rounds in their gym (8 schools playing in La Jolla).

I agree that if the Big West passes, it would be a coup for the WAC to get the Tritons. But I bet if they got them, they will stay longer, more like 8-10 years.
