MyBB GCU Passes on Postseason
Read the article HERE.

No participation ribbon/tourney/trophy for the Lopes this year. All eyes looking ahead to 2017-18. Totally fine with it.

Love this move. Establishing standards that the program expects to be top 100 (68 NCAA, 32 NIT).

RE: GCU Passes on Postseason
I just came across this and was about to post, but you beat me to it. It is a little bit disappointing that they aren't, but that's just because I want to watch DeWayne play in at least one more game.

RE: GCU Passes on Postseason
The article was updated this afternoon with info from Coach Majerle confirming games on the road at Louisville & Illinois next year. It also sounds like St. Mary's is coming to play at GCU. The team has an overseas trip on the books for this summer to Spain or the Bahamas.

Also the last line with a big man visiting this weekend that will maybe fill out the roster?? Here are some highlights from the FIBA U18 Euro championships where he averaged some really decent numbers and it looks like he's got a good motor with some skill running the high pick and roll. Plus he runs the floor a majority of the time.
EDIT: It looks like he is making an official visit with Georgia Tech today.

RE: GCU Passes on Postseason
Instant respect for Majerle on this one. He realizes that the only tourney's that really count are the NCAA and NIT although I would not have thought it was a bad thing if GCU did the CBI or CIT tourney's being that they can't compete in the real ones. However, good call Dan the Tan. You want to be a big boy, act like one and you just did. Now Seattle does not deserve to play in any post season tourney with a losing record. That's ridiculous.

Cool that NMSU and GCU will be playing Illinois next year. Next years WAC tourney can't get here soon enough and I hope its at GCU arena. I don't care if it's in GCU's arena. I think attendance will be better, especially if it's a GCU/NMSU game. Vegas will never come close to selling out the Orleans. The only reason the WCC does is because of Gonzaga, unless GCU brings that many fans. NMSU only gets about 800 fans to Vegas and that's still more than all other schools combined. I know that won't be the case next year, even if its in Vegas.

Speaking of Vegas, this might be a different thread/topic at a different time, but us WACt virgins are going to need the wisdom & savvy of you grizzled vets when it comes to planning our trips. I would book my room & buy tickets today, if I could. Haha.

I feel like the smart thing to do any time you go to Vegas is stay out in Henderson rather than Vegas cause it can be so much cheaper out there and it really only takes you about 15 minutes tops to get to the Strip

There are really nice places right in Vegas for cheap. I will share with you guys when the time comes. I know most Aggie fans stay at Orleans but I know better places. I've gone 3 years in a row but life got in the way this time.

I hope the game is at GCU as well. Aggie fans will fill up GCU arena easily.

I hope they chose to play the tournament behind closed doors with no fans. Make it as neutral as possible.

I guess we could have it at your gym since no fans go to your games?

Nah... I'm big time next year. We'll get a three bedroom suit.
