Worse effort than SMU
....to this point.
More at stake.
Lesser opponent.
Not a road game.
Beat this team earlier this year.

Down 27, listless. Yes, the five threes in a row by them was holy sheet, but most of those were balls wide open, and our kids missed similar shots. A few minutes of 25 minutes.

No NIT.

Bubble in his second year, barring a miracle comeback. Team was 18-7. And then lost it.

17-6 and 7-3 going into the last UCF game. Something happened with someone and everything went downhill.

I agree. Heard it was a curfew incident. Looks like it snowballed into something more. 2-7 since it happened.

But Feb 3 sure seems the date something went south. I went back and looked at stats to see if individual minutes changed from that date, but they really didn't. The big change from that date is with Markel. He averaged 14.4 points before Orlando, and 8.6 points since then. Six points a game is pretty significant. Either an injury or something in his head.

KJ is the only other one with a noticed change in stats - though not as significant as Markel's. KJ averaged 2 fewer points and 2 fewer boards since Orlando.

Someone found out about their draft status.

Dedric and KJ Lawson were just laughing coming out of that timeout huddle. It's everything Memphis fans feared.

Not sure many Memphis fans had a fear about our best players not giving a rip for the last five weeks of the season. I doubt I'll live long enough to see us play for a championship again, but I know I never expected to live to see this. Not from Memphis-bred Tigers.

Yep.

I've never seen a coach lost a team like Tubby lost this one. It went over the cliff.

The buck stops with him, for sure. Time to earn that salary and fix the problems. Everybody on the team (except Dedric) is saying they didn't quit this year and they'll be back next year. That's from their perspective. Didn't hear Tubby's. He may have a different take.

I just don't see the fire in Tubby. Perhaps after the off season and some time on the golf course, he will come back with some of that. Time will tell.

Maybe he just feels like "been there, done that." He does not have the young mans fiery, damn the torpedos attitude for these young kids.
He just wants to take his afternoon nap, show up for game time with no fire and enthusiasm to instill in our players. He needs to develop a Calipari,Bobby Knight, Bruce Pearl type personality for his coaching style. These results are embarrassing for the fans but our players don't seem to be embarrassed at all. No pride, no good results.

Forget fury.
I'll settle for pride.
That name on the front of the jersey should mean something to the coach.
Getting blown out on national tv oughta be killing our coach's pride.

I don't think he gives a ****. Memphis doesn't mean anything to him but a huge paycheck. Welcome to overpriced mediocrity.

Hell, mediocrity looks pretty good right about now.
