Looks like the Runners came into the tournament with a little momentum from their win over the Monarchs. The first game is in the books as UTSA defeats WKU and will take on MTSU tomorrow. I have not seen anything yet, but I would imagine that the Raiders are somewhere around 12-15 point favorites to hang the loss on the Runners.

MTSU's only conference loss was to UTEP about a month ago. I don't see UTSA pulling that off, but I sure would like to see it.

I am gonna say -14 and total of 125

Rice and USM about to get underway with Rice an 11 point favorite. I will be real surprised if Rice doesn't get the win.

Hmm. Might have to rethink that if Southern Miss keeps this up. USM off to a fast start and up 14-4 early in the first half.

First 5 minutes, USM all over Rice 14-4

USM up 30-23 with four and half left in the first, and I'll tell you this -- they do not look like a team with only six wins in conference play.

The first teamer with 5 turnovers at the under 4 tv timeout in the first half.

Somewhat of a return to normalcy -- Rice leads 37-35 at the half.

Rice now up 71-67 with six left. Don't know how many threes they have hit, but it is a bunch.

With three minutes left, Rice is up by ten and is 20 for 20 from the free throw line.

Rice takes the victory. They made 29 free throws

The final was 86-75 with Rice advancing. The Owls hit 13 threes, and not sure how many points Evans had, but the last I heard he had 26. Not bad for a kid from Chesapeake.

26 points, 8 turnovers and according to the box score he didn't start.

Southern Miss guards also went off.....especially Campbell and Edwards. Why it's important to look at more than just points.

Charlotte/UAB is underway. Sounds like more folks here for the home team, but it still looks like a pretty sparse crowd. UBA up 24-23 with eight left in the first half.

UAB 74 - CHA 73. Tight game. Seems there will be another crowd tomorrow night with home team advancing.

I hope they beat LA tech. That would be ideal?

So with UAB winning, we have one game left tonight and will find out who the Monarchs play tomorrow. FAU (11) is a six point dog to Marshall (6), but I think they take this one for the only lower seed win of the day.

UTSA (9) beat WKU (8), so wouldn't it be the second low seed win of the day?
