Again Razor can only use numbers and things like non conference RPI to make an argument. Because he can't understand the actual game being played on the floor. Any coach in the country will tell u UTEP has a ton more talent than a William and Mary.

This is by no means an absolute, unless you have a survey that states that. After watching a lot of basketball from a lot of different mid major leagues this week, my conclusion was that CUSA was bad, and I think W&M is as good as anyone in CUSA aside from MTSU. Most stats support my takeaway as well. Your statement is nothing more than your take, and frankly it's not supported by much of anything else.

Better and more talented are different metrics. UTEP might be more talented, but in the sum of parts, W&M is the better team. There is no data to support any other conclusion.

People try to over interpret the rpi. If you live by it fine but the index difference between the #11 and #23 is not that much, 0.3. UNCW is a good team, Charleston is ok but that's it

w&M certainly had a better year than UTEP. I thought people were saying who was better at the end of the year; which was UTEP.

All CUSA teams are all world at the end of the year every year. I'm sure if we repeated the OOC now, CUSA would be a top 5 conference looking at 4-6 bids.

Yeah. I think W&M is better now. Clearly we disagree, and clearly there is no way for either of us to prove to be right. Its just opinion, and in my opinion, both views are reasonable. Its definitely not the open and shut argument that some have claimed.

It's difficult to be absolutely specific about that question to say it is either UTEP or W & M. No question that UTEP improved from January on. But having taller players or even better athletes doesn't necessarily make them a better team than W & M. W & M plays a team game at both ends and take a lot of 3's which they are fairly decent at hitting.
At the end of the year ODU went to UTEP and won. Right after that ODU went to a fairly poor UTSA team and got soundly beaten. That doesn't make ODU look all that strong, especially when ODU lost it's next game against an average Marshall team. But still ODU was able to defeat UTEP. On the other hand, W & M easily beat ODU at home, and I don't think they were playing too much worse, if any at all, at the end of the year than they were then. The CAA was a stronger conference than C-USA was this season. Surely you have some stats to show that to be the case.

RE: C-USA Tournament Discussion
Besides our game I watched W&M in the tournament and was completely unimpressed wondering how could we lose to that team. How much longer are they going with Shaver - 0.4 winning percentage, 17 years, no titles in a weak conference with ODU, VCU and Mason out of the way. He should go sit with Bruser smh

UTEP beat MTSU and had narrow losses to ODU and LT...they beat Rice twice. It wasnt just being up the bottom of CUSA. ODU had no interest in playing UTSA, I cant really put a ton of stock into that one.
The CAA was certainly better overall. But the best teams in CUSA were as good or better than the best the CAA had to offer. the CAA just doesnt have the drags of the NCAA to bring down the RPI.

Who did CUSA top schools outside of MTSU beat out of conference. There is nothing to support the notion that they are better than the CAA top schools. I believe outside of MTSU, our win at Richmond was CUSA's best win.

What CAA schools had OOC wins as good as Richmond, Towson, GW, Vandy, uNC-W, Ole Miss, Belmont?
CAA doesnt have significantly better or worse wins than that.

Yep, cherry picking certainly proves your point.
And 2 of those schools are from the caa lol
I would take W&M to beat utep at home and on a neutral court and utep to win at home.
The "eye test" is the last refuge of a scoundrel.
