Children in Syria scarred by war attempt suicide, self-harm
Quote:Syrian children as young as 5 said they were angry, afraid and confused, with one youngster shouting he hated an airplane "because it killed my Dad," according to a new report examining kids trapped in Syria's long-running civil war.

A Save the Children report released Tuesday found a growing mental health crisis among children in Syria who experienced prolonged adversity without enough adult support — and has led to a rise in self-harm and suicide attempts during the nearly six years of war.

"Some kids have been born into war and never known anything else," said Carolyn Miles, president and CEO of Save the Children.
