Low expectations of the GT team & of their coach within the ACC. GT & their coach exceeded expectations, simple as that.

with 8 ******* wins and an 11 seed? They were predicted 14th. FSU was predicted 8th and finished second.

No, beating VCU, UNC, Clemson, NCST, FSU, ND, Syracuse, Pitt, and several of those on the road is what got JP COY.

If 3 games above .500 gets you Conference Coach of the Year then Tubby should be NCOY, we finished 7 games above

Of a 2-10 road record? Absolutely not.

RE: ACC Coach of the Year
Looking at some of the past winners from the last ten years, and winning an ACC coach of the year award is hardly a validation of a coaches career. Couple of those guys won their COY award and got fired a few years later never to see the NCAA's again.

Pastner got his because GT was a little less crappy than everyone thought they would be. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I really do wish Pastner the best, but he's got a long way to go before the stink he has on him from his tenure here fully goes away imo.

But lets be realistic...This is based on everyone thinking that G. Tech was going to suck...

Okogie came in and was a much better player than his ranking and Lammers played well...

Gtech has the same record of the coach who was fired in conference and a worse record overall

Adding to your post...I saw Okogie being interviewed and they asked him did josh convince you to stay and honor your commitment, he said no, he simply wanted to play at GT. Secondly, Ben Lammers is a prime time big man. The combo of Lammers and Okogie is a nice deal to walk into. The previous coach that got fired was the one responsible for both Lammers and Okogie. Lastly, he got that award for three victories. Yes they were great wins. But his record sucked like you mentioned. His record was like the records he was getting here after cusa.

Josh should get a ton of credit for Lammers
I disagree 100%. No way josh had anything to do with the player Ben Lammers is. If that was the case he should have done that with Tarik and Austin or any other player not named DJ. You can have that opinion if you want to, I respectfully disagree.

I look at it simply...If he gets the blame he gets the credit.

Regardless if it is true.

Life is funny. Congrats Josh.

Georgia Tech has a fan board so you can cheer JP on.
