The fact we have still not seen much movement on other offers sure implies that Tony and staff must feel they are right in there still with Beran and/or Roddy. This was from a GT writeup three weeks ago which is an eon with Beran's rise, but it still gives support to the staff has not moved on. Contact pressure from the P5's is no doubt in warp speed now. Interesting that Robbie's mother is a bankruptcy lawyer (Go Paul!!)

I would hope he'd have the courtesy of cutting Tony and staff loose, sooner than later, if he plans to take a full slate of official visits and we are not one of his top choices going in. Getting late for other dates to the prom. Otherwise, if we are right there in the final mix, I like the prospect of Milon and Van Vliet getting the chance to provide some insightful discussion regarding their experiences.

I don't think I could handle so many unofficial visits and then official visits piled together....Stimulus and info overload. Think I'd just make a decision based on all of the unofficials and relationships to date, and only take one official to the final choice for confirmation. It feels right or it doesn't.

Beran actually at Wisconsin today, rather than yesterday.

In following P5 tweets and message boards, any chance of Beran staying home and choosing a mid major, despite his priorities, will be an impossible outcome considering the peer pressure, the P5 programs pressure, and all of the glitter/stars being thrown out. Despite my not wanting to give in, and apparently the coaching staff hanging in since no other offer movement, this would be a monumental outcome. Wouldn't even be surprised if he committed on one of these unofficial visits. Just too much bling, and he hasn't even gotten to Wake, yet, which is where his mother got her MBA and JD.

Has to rank high with biggest July blowups.

We've stolen some outstanding under the radar recruits. We've never stolen a popular P5 recruit in my memory.

Doubt Freemantle's commit lightened up Xavier's pursuit of Beran, since they still have spots..

In addition, C/PF Kadin Shedrick who was on an official to Xavier when Beran was there last week and started following each other, committed to UVA yesterday. His final list had included Wisconsin, Xavier and Wake, so, again no help in reducing those schools recruitment of Beran. Tough climb for us.

And as absolutely crazy as I sound for asking this, would he even start for us next year, especially if the goal is for Nate to possibly play the 4 and Van Vilet start at center. The reason that I bring this up is that I still believe that ultimately we are the perfect fit for him if his head had not been loaded up with so many P5 offers, but if starter's minutes are something that he is looking for I do not think that we can even offer him that.

I still continued to feel good about our chances of at least getting on his dance card, even when all of the P5 schools started offering, because the schools that really scared me were Ivie's like Harvard, Princeton, and Yale. When Wake offered, however, I really knew that our chances went south. Small private school with great academics and a great basketball tradition in the ACC and close enough for his family to watch him play. And that was before you pointed out that Wake is his Mother's Alma mater.
