Did you see that the announcement of the new president of Western, made the front page of the Free Press? The author of the article, our friend David Jesse. I guess we now know of whom he is a supporter. Nothing against the man who got the job, just as I said, what a difference in coverage.

A Dem politician and Obama 'Czar' as the new school President.

Good luck with that WMU 01-wingedeagle

This is his Wikipedia entry. Very, very impressive. Off the charts good.

And Detroit News, Mlive, etc.

This guy has a tremendous resume for a MAC school in MI.

I certainly would have welcomed him to EMU.

His list of schools MSU, Carnegie-Mellon, Maryland and Georgetown is quite impressive.

I would normally wonder why he'd be interested in a MI school, but he has taught at MSU so he has some roots in the state.

And his wife is from the west side of MI.

......"an American economist, academic, and politician."

WMU just took a hard left turn. Glad it's WMU, not EMU.

I might say:

I have graduate credits at Georgetown, occasionally go to Mass at Holy Trinity near their campus.

I wish he was at EMU.

Don't have enough money to live in Georgetown... :(

RE: Football Facilities!!!!!
People should be hired on their abilities not their politics. Is the WMU president have the ability to do solid things for the school students and the taxpayers of Michigan in running WMU? If the answer is yes or very likely then that's all that matters. I don't know what CC 's politics are and I really don't care, I care if he's a good coach and mentor and runs the program right. Period.

BTW, I used to be a Georgetown MBB season tix holder in the early 80s (Patrick Ewing).

I'd like this guy. He worked at the Dept. of Labor. I was a computer programmer in the 80s at the Bureau of Labor Statistics.

Wish he was at EMU... My kind of guy. 04-cheers

Now can he raise money for athletic facilities???

Dear steve,
Your enthusiasm for the new Western president is now known. As EagleTough has said, let's get back to our facilities.

I'm super anxious to see renderings. Wonder if they're moving the field closer to the West stands and doing something with the East seats.

When do the regents vote

EDIT: Next week (4/20 and 21)

http://www.emich.edu/regents/meetings.php

The agenda has Rynearson items not related to the facility building project.

http://www.emich.edu/regents/meetings/20...pdated.pdf

I'm not sure how they handle something like the building project. Special session? Executive session?

Read some of the comments on that article. It never ceases to amaze me how MLive can bring out the idiots.
