We would have a better record this year than we do now if we hired Bruce instead of Josh.

Counting vacated wins, probably. Pearl will eventually tire of losing, cheat and then get caught. I don't think he can stand to keep getting his head beat in, he will cheat, just a matter of time. Now we'll see if he gets caught?

The problem with a turn around, is getting it rolling. I know from turning things around at the high school level, it is not easy. Once you get it going the right way, it is so much easier. It definitely tests your will.

In these days of one and dones, so much easier to turn things around if you pick up 2 top 50s, 2 good JUCOs and a pretty good grad transfer (or any combination of the 3). Tubby can't recruit that well, so it may take us 3-4 years by which time fans will have stopped coming and caring and it will be over for a long time.

Hate to be such a downer but it is what it is. Actually depressing for me because I love March for Tourney. Not much fun when Tigers are not in.

I think Pearl is really good and Barbee is good (considering the job he did at UTEP has not been near replicated).

Auburn seems to be a graveyard, though I think Pearl's best team will be next year.

We will see.

Yeah I am sure he has mastered cooking Hotdogs on his grill by now...That should keep the recruits rolling in.

Oh, I think he he is a good coach, but he isn't a great one. Seems like he needs some talent, he didn't turn it around in 9 months, that is for sure. One has to wonder why? What will he be willing to do to get that talent? He hasn't won without it.

I doubt there were any McDonald's All-Amercians on campus either when he arrived. And something tells me that Auburn, Alabama isn't a hotbed of local basketball talent.

They got these modern things like the interstate, and telephones, not to mention the interwebs.

Bottom line he didn't turn it around in 9 months.

I know the next time he paints his fat belly, he should wear pasties.

Yeah, speaking of the "I'm not sad we cheated, just sad of the way we cheated" Ole Miss fans' mindset, that was a bonehead move by Pearl.

Certainly disproves the theory you have to be smart to be a winning coach. But to lie about it, didn't he know that only blue bloods can do that?

This is true of nearly everyone. Not many Brad Stevens out there. Basketball is helped with Xs and Os but won by Johns and Joes. I'm not a Pearl fan. Cheating is part of it. But molding young men is part of it too and Bruce is a scumbag. When he taught the kid to just lie if anyone asked, I lost a lot of respect for the guy. I wouldn't send my kid to play for him. I prob wouldn't send my kid to play for Josh FWIW either. Tubby meanwhile could have my son for 4 years---would have mediocre teams.....no fame and glory...not showcasing talent for NBA.....but I'll give Tubby that. And Tubby knows the game. His in game adjustments are better than Brucey IMO. Where Bruce has made a living is as a motivator/marketer. And dear Lord we could use both!!

The season he's having now is probably the ceiling for Auburn, save a Barkley walking on campus.
