Exclamation Time for ACC Football to Cash In
The pro-SEC blog Gridiron Now recently posted Timing is finally right for ACC football to cash in on success.

Quote:The last time the ACC had the chance to cash in on the value of its media rights – the sale of football and basketball games involving conference members to the highest bidding television network – was 2010. The league had never been weaker.
. . .
The next time the ACC will have the chance to cash in on the value of its media rights in late 2018 and early 2019 when the league, in conjunction with ESPN, will begin offering the ACC Network to distributors. The league has never been stronger.

So at least some SEC blogger thinks the ACC Network will make good money!

I find this article to be more over-analyzing the simple discussion of sports cycles. SEC dominance wasn't going to last forever, the same way the B1G's drought wasn't going to last forever.. There's a level of truth to each of the factors; however, I just see the level of play elsewhere elevating people of wise coaching hires, better recruiting tactics, and so on. The SEC will likely always be a top 3 conference, due to the local hotbed of talent in the Gulf States (Louisiana to Florida) and the ability to attract coaches, and they may go on another 5-10 year run again (at some point). Sports simply runs in cycles.
