not often you see a team blow such a big lead. That must be legendarily bad pitching today.

Looked like we were trying to get people innings in a blowout game. Too many guys getting behind in counts and throwing fast balls in predictable counts. Big wind blowing out to center doesn't help either.

Its baseball. This happens to everybody, even when you're one of only 8 undefeated teams in America.

Oh I know but it still sucks. Huge lead with and a chance for an $EC sweep heading into a big home series. In the grand scheme this isn't a make or break game for the Dawgs but it would've been huge for fan support and to rub in the face of the LSU fans including our own Gannet LSU homer beat writer.

why would we rub that in the face of LSU? they've beaten Arkansas so many times

Because when a non $EC team beats an $EC team, it shows all of them that they're not as special and untouchable as they think.

USM gets the 2-1 win on a 2 out walk off walk. First 2 batters in the bottom of the 9th grounded out and then there was a walk, error, HBP and then a full count ball 4. That makes 13 straight home wins.

All due respect, LSU fans would just laugh at you if you tried to talk trash about beating Arkansas in a couple of midweek games.

(Speaking from experience as a fan of a team who has racked up less-meaningful midweek wins against SEC teams).

Much needed with, arguably, our toughest series of the year coming up.

We don't have top-of-the-line weekend starters, half of our fielders are below average, and our hitting is average with a few decent hitters at the top of the line-up.

As a long-time C-USA fan, I've seen this too many times with Rice. You play a brutal schedule, struggle early, and still end up winning the conference title and making a Regional.

Congrats to Charlotte, by the way. What is going on up there? Another big win. Definitely the most impressive showing in the conference to this point. If you guys go 3-3 or even 4-2 in your next two weekend series against Xavier (a conference favorite) and a preseason Top 10 team, you guys will be looking pretty damn strong to start conference play.

Hopefully we can start to get some recognition. Makes me really wish we'd been able to flip that South Carolina game. Still, get through Xavier and ECU at .500 in those series and I think we'll be in great shape to start looking for a decent ranking.

USM host Xavier next weekend so hopefully we can combine to make them 0-6 these next 2 weekends

We've had some set-backs in the transition from the A-10 back to C-USA, but I think we're finally putting all the pieces together to be a quality C-USA team. Our 1st group of "C-USA recruits" are seniors this year and our recruiting increased incrementally each year since then. We also have a new pitching coach who appears to have made a difference with our young staff.
