Forbes article on Clemson's new football facility

Quote:I spend a fair amount of time on college campuses touring facilities and meeting with athletics administrators, and I've found each one has a unique feel - a prevailing theme. You've probably heard about the barber shop, napping pods, indoor slide and putt-putt course at Clemson's new football complex, which makes the theme sound like something flashy and over the top meant to woo recruits.

And while I have no doubt these new digs will indeed influence recruits, it's not because they can bowl a few frames inside the complex or shoot some hoops on the outdoor basketball court. It's because this place was created first and foremost with family in mind. If recruits are looking for a home away from home when they go away to college, and a place where they feel like they're a part of something, these facilities will make it clear that the Clemson football family is just that - a family.

Quote:But I want to first share with you my favorite part of the new football complex - something not many people beyond players and coaches will ever see . . .

I've never, in any of the football facilities I've toured around the country, seen a photo of a coach's family outside every office. It's one of the many things I experienced at Clemson that gives the program a unique, family-first feel. And the message is not just that the football team is a family - but that all those people in your life you call family come first.

Giving credit where credit is due, Clemson is certainly on a roll and I would not be surprised to see them back in that championship game this upcoming season.
