2017 baseball
I know I'm the new guy around here, but I figured I'd start a thread for this year's baseball team. I remember when I was a kid GCU was D1 and played Nevada a few times.
Just saw that Wichita finished off the sweep this weekend, so now we're 2-4- but why would the Lopes play any OOC games on the road, especially in February? You'd think all the northern teams would be dying to play in Phoenix. I know San Jose gets a lot of home games because of their weather and recruiting area. You'd think GCU could pretty much play every weekend at home till conference play.

You are right about not having to venture far for games in warm locations but WSU is a good program not to play them and to pass that up wouldn't be a great idea if you can get them at home in the next year or so when baseball can make a run to he College World Series. They really don't have much to lose this year so why not play in the state of Kansas in Feb...

I agree with the Wichita series being a good experience, be was more questioning the series at St Mary's and Pepperdine. Would've been nice to get teams like Michigan or Ohio State coming down to the valley.

I think Stankiewicz wanted to put this team through the ringer, so he scheduled a lot of road games because it is a lot easier to play at home.
