I always thought of Colmes as a liberal of the kind-hearted type who genuinely wants to do good for people and sees the government as the vehicle to do it...not the weird leftist whackjob type.

They kept each other in check.. if you were ever "lucky" enough to hear Colmes' radio show, he was as ultra-partisan as Hannity was, and he never hid it.

You wouldn't want to listen to either of them without someone to keep the other in check (and I've said that for years about both of them).

When they had to fact-check each other, they were both tolerable.

Watched them almost nightly as a team. After Colmes left, didn't take long till I couldn't stand the one man stroke-a-thon. I'm virtually always in agreement with Hannity, he's just one of them guys I can't listen too. A chalk board. And it's Hillary's nails on it.

He will be sorely missed. A wonderful person with a big heart. I didn't agree with His politics but His personal Human side always shown through. Something many in the media could learn from. R.I.P. Alan.
