Where even if he didn't hit much- he would still be of great value.

It's a nice thought, but when you're quoting numbers after 6 at bats I feel like you're trolling me. But the part about helping the relief pitchers is certainly plausible

Arizona was probably a bad pick though. However I couldn't pick the Dodgers because they suck and I just have a hard time viewing the Rockies as a playoff team. Probably should of just taken the Giants. Oh well.

With the pitching turmoil that the Mets have- tough to say they're a lock. Matz could be out for a while, and Lugo very likely will need TJ surgery. Wheeler is on a 120 inning limit this year, and Syndergaard has a blister. Harvey is a huge question mark of course. Yeah if 3-4 of those turn out good they're fine- but it's just as likely with their history that 4 of the 5 could turn up bad for them.

Fair assessment. So if they tank this year who runs the East? Nationals then Braves?

Agree with stever - it's the Nats' division to lose. It won't take the Mets tanking, though. They're counting on improving with basically the same team, one year older. How many of those guys can you expect to play better, get injured less? It kind of looks like long odds to bet that guys who have been trending down will turn it back up, or that guys will have significant jumps in performance, all the while staying healthy when there are several guys late (or beyond) their prime playing years.

Buxton is now 1-14 with 7 K's and the one hit was a weak dribbler that he beat out. But the Twins should by all means continue batting him third. He's now seen 50 pitches and swung at 36 of them. That swing rate would've destroyed last year's league leading rate (adam jones, 60.6%)

Despite Buxton's problems the Twins looking at 3-0 vs the Royals. Think it may say more about the Royals than it does the Twins.

Lose this game for the Royals and they're 0-3 with 3 in Houston this weekend- with Keuchel and McCullers on the mound on Saturday and Sunday. It's early- but teams that go like 0-6 normally don't make the playoffs all that often.

Oh boy. Puig with his 3rd HR. Tall about a guy who thrives on confidence. I'd love to see him get off to a hot start.

With Bundy and Paxton pitching well, and McCullers healthy, the AL is pretty tough. At the very least there should be about 8 teams fighting for the 5 spots. Can't afford to fall too far behind. And if you select the Red Sox, Indians and Astros as division winners, it leaves a tough group of the Rays, Orioles, Tigers, Mariners and Rangers fighting for 2 WC spots. Good luck jumping 4 of those teams when you have a weak farm system and you're not capable of spending big money.
