I don't know what the problem is, but it is time for Ehsan to get this team's attention. Time to suspend some players for lack of effort.

The secret to three point defense—don't let the other team take them.

Mehinti is not the only problem. The problem is team wide. Yes, the coach is supposed to motivate them, but some players can't be motivated. What is he supposed to do then.

Gene Bartow had players who he couldn't motivate. You could usually find those players sitting next to him on the bench. That is where Lee should be.

The inability to hit free throws is Evidence #1 that this team isn't trying anymore and has mentally checked out.

But go ahead and blame the coach. He can't make them want to win.

Bench em and put guys in who want to play. Get blow out , you get blown out.

Down 14 at half time.

Unless they show (wake) up, this will be a 20+ point loss.

lee wont make it to the nba because he doesnt want to gain muscle

We don't need a new coach. He needs a new team. Maybe these same players, but a new team with a new attitude. A team of players that want to play basketball and not just sit around reading about how good they are.

Ehsan may be a bad coach, but let's see what he does with players who want to play first.

So why do guys decide to quit in year 3 or 4? It's not like these guys have played like bums their entire time here?

I have no clue. The only thing I can think of is too much success early in their career and they think that they don't have to work hard. When it turns out they do have to work, they panic and fall a part when what has worked in the past doesn't work.

Definitely the worst coached UAB team I've ever seen. I've been to Samford, Vestavia HS and Mountain Brook Hs games this year and all three teams play more fundamentally sound basketball than we do, and it's not even really close.

RE: WKU Game thread
In the past couple of years, UAB has been a good team and the rest of CUSA was bad teams with a few teams having a couple of decent players that kept them in games.

This year, UAB went from being a team to being a star-based team. Lee doesn't have the grind to be that player, yet he was made the focus of the team. I don't know if that caused chemistry problems or not, but it has resulted in what we have now.

Meanwhile, CUSA now has some better TEAMS. Not just bad teams with one good star. They now play like a team and our results depends on whether Lee shows up or not.

Que Johnson 17 points on 6-7 shooting at halftime
Justin Johnson 12 points on 5-7 shooting at halftime.

Our problem is we have no Johnson (yes that can be taken in more than one way)

RE: WKU Game thread
We went the last 5:02 w/o a FG. We seemed to be trying to force the ball to Tosin and whatever rythm we had was lost. We need to stop trying to force the inside game to Tosin. His hands are terrible so if the pass is not perfect he's not gonna get it. His instincts are bad as well. He decides what he's gonna do before he gets the ball. His screens seem to always result in offensive fouls, too. Perhaps he should be considered a defensive replacement and when Cokley goes to the bench we need to move Lee to C and bring in Madison or play Smallwood more. The passing around the perimeter that Haase used to do was frustrating then and its double frustrating now because there's no RB to create a shot...
