RE: MBB @ Akron
Another tough loss, and wasn't really that close for most of that last 10 minutes after we blew that lead. Just couldn't hang with them. There's a reason there's "Akron" and then "everyone else" in the MAC this season.
See if the Rockets can still finish strong this season.

Can't imagine how with a 6 man rotation...
Bench, we don't need no stinkin bench, at least that is what everyone was telling me after the Kent St win.

My stream froze up, but I'm pretty sure I know how this one is going to end....
Actually, that strategy worked the previous 2 wins. Big difference was we weren't playing EMU or Kent, who couldn't climb back into the game like Akron did.

My thought exactly.

Well, yeah, when you have a big lead and control, that's one thing. In this game, the lead was not big enough against such an opponent and we did not have control of the game. Akron took advantage of the reduced intensity and exploded in our face. I just hate to see them slow it down against a good opponent because they don't seem to be able to kick the intensity back to where it was and this is what happens. Stick with what got you where you are until it isn't working anymore.

I thought Akron was way too content to launch threes for most of the game. The Zips finally started to play with some urgency and fire after the Rockets stretched the lead in the second half. Antino Jackson had a quickness advantage on offense but rarely used it. Taylor really faltered down the stretch, and Jon Jon didn't finish nearly as well as usual, missing several after he was able to get to the rim. Rockets played the Zips close, but then so have a lot of other MAC teams. Akron has won a lot of close games.

Not having Garber probably hurt more this game than any other. If nothing else, we could have made Johnson earn his points down the stretch from the free throw line rather than giving him layups.
