They are going to group us together. They are working out the details. Just tell them you want with the BT group. It will be similar to hiw we did it before.

Be sure to gripe about having to pay additional for parking. Tell them to pass your complaint to the top. That is a topic of discussion now.

;-)

I called yesterday and the ticket office guy I talked with told me it was his understanding that the tailgate fee would also cover the cost for parking your vehicle, but more information would be available next week. He said the tailgating spaces should be the dimensions of two vehicles meaning your tailgate fee gets you a spot for your car and the tailgating space equivalent to the size of one vehicle.

Probably - not sure if it's first come/first serve for parking/tailgating but we'll probably be set up on North side somewhere YTBD

If this is the case, I'll just buy a whole spot.

RE: Football Tailgating Discusssion
The size is open to interpretation & needs to be determined - is the size to park our vehicle & tailgate say 15wx10l which is still a tight fit for say a truck then try to put up a canopy or is it 10x10 so only can you tailgate & park your car if it's a MiniCoop or Yugo? The parking spots at our last season at LF were varied but barely able to handle my 10x10 canopy. In my mind for me to get a spot to park my vehicle & tailgate in it would need to be at least 15x10 but more likely 20wx10l or 20x20 as that's what I see in my competition bbq contests that allows me to park my truck as well as set up my canopy/smokers/tables/etc

Have they announced the time of the spring game? I'm assuming it will be free also.

They'd be complete idiots to charge admission to the Spring Game.

How much do you think the tickets will be?

Season tickets renewed as well as tailgate spot - they said they were 10x20 hopefully whoever lines them off each game doesn't forget their tape measure or use metric or common core math

Also remember to mention Blazertalk group when you do as Attalla said

I am so happy for the return of UAB Football. Actually, so happy I'm moving back to Birmingham from my self imposed exile in Southern California for the past 6 years.

My wife and I are thrilled at the thought of being back at Legion Field on Saturdays (or any other day games are held) to support our Blazers and tailgate with old friends. Just getting ready to call the ticket office to arrange my Blazer Boosters setup and season tickets/tailgating pass!

Go Blazers!

That was one of the players parents Hayden Nauman IIRC, don't forget we got the shaft one yr by buying a 2x2 block & they ended up numbering the spaces wrong so our 2x2 spots were not connected they were about 2 spaces away from each other - one of the reasons we moved over toward the sidewalk - less chance of a ****up

RE: Football Tailgating Discusssion
A lot of details are kind of spread out in multiple posts, can we get a recap on how the tailgate spots work?

Is this separate from just general parking, or can we park where we tailgate?

I don't have season tickets or any parking/tailgate spots yet, so I'm trying to figure it all out before pulling the trigger

At any rate, you can put me down for a tailgate spot with the rest of the BT crew, if someone can let me know the logistics of what I need to do.

RE: Football Tailgating Discusssion
3 types of parking - there's gameday parking for $8 (I assume), reserved parking for $48 IIRC (see map posted in sticky at top on main UAB page by blazerjay) & tailgate spots for $95 which they told me are 20x10 spots so you can park in them & set up a canopy. All of this is separate from your tickets.

We're trying to get a group of spots together for parking & actual set up in so we're all together rather than spread out. If you want a spot w/ us just tell them you want to be w/ the Blazertalk folks. Once we have all the spots bought we're going to use, we'll figure out the parking & set up parts in our area so the more spots we buy together the better off we'll be

By the way blazerjay - I've bought my spot now

Me and a buddy are going in on at least 2 spots for ourselves, but we may get more.

We will add info as we go along.

Yes I am told we can park at the tailgate spot in lieu of buying an additional parking pass.
