RE: NU Baseball 2017
NU gets their first win of the season at North Florida 9-1.

Mike Fitzgerald gets the win. (6.1 IP, 1 ER, 5 H, 1 BB, 5K)

Freshman 3B Scott Holzwasser went 2-4 with a 2-run HR and 3 RBI. He might be the bopper in the lineup it desperately needs.

Cam Hanley went 2-4 with a 3B and 3 RBI.

Two teams have a doubleheader tomorrow and a game on Sunday.

Andrew Misiaszek (0-1, 12.00 ERA) starts Game 1 and Freshman RHP Tom Githens goes in Game 2.

Kyle Murphy (0-0, 9.82 ERA) starts Sunday

NU enters the weekend 2-5 on the season.

NU was swept at So. Miss. (blew a 7-0 lead in the 3rd game).

Last weekend, they split a 4-game series at North Florida.

Nice article on the annual Northeastern vs. Red Sox game in Florida...

Tough schedule for you guys so far; winning 3 or more games would have been a tall order. I think you'll be dangerous this year. Mike Glavine is a very good coach from everything I've seen.

If we still had Civale and Hunt we really would be dangerous.

We have to get our weekend rotation straightened out after Fitzgerald. We have a lot of quality arms, but they're young.

I really believe this team will score some runs and swing the bats better than in years past.

We also have a ton of road games this year, which will hurt our record.

NU beat Toledo 9-2 today in Port Charlotte.

Freshman LHP Sean Mellen got the win in his first start.

He took a no-hitter into the 7th. (6.2 IP, 2H, 2R, 2ER, 3BB, 4K)

Really hope this kid cracks the weekend rotation, or at the very least as a mid-week starter.

NU splits their last 2 games in Florida.

Saturday, NU beat Lehigh 12-6. RHP Brian Christian went 7 IP, 4 H, 1 R, 1 ER, 0 BB, and 10 K's.

DH Zach Perry went 3-3 with 6 RBI.

Today, NU lost to Bucknell 9-7.

NU leaves Florida 6-8 on the season.

They're scheduled to play at Hartford on Wednesday, but that's not happening with the Nor'Easter coming.

NU has a 3-game series at Cincinnati next weekend.

RE: NU Baseball 2017
NU loses 2 out of 3 at Cincinnati.

NU is 7-10 on the season and finally play AT HOME on Wednesday vs. BC.

They're swinging the bats pretty well. NU has a .300 team batting average after 17 games.

But the team ERA is way above the norm for this program. NU has a 7.08 ERA! Ouch.

If they can continue to hit going to league play and drop that ERA 2 or 3 runs they could have a really good season.
