I talked about this guy in the recruiting thread a few days ago. he had us listed as "warmer" in his 247 profile. He is a fantastic get. I would say ratings wise probably the highest rated commit in several years. I know a lot of guys do not rely on ratings very much. This particular commit will cause a bit of a stir among rating services, bloggers, web sites, and coaches. This is a group that ignores us as a rule. It should create a bit of a buzz!

He's likely Wisconsins top prospect. No idea how we got him especially with him already having a Wi offer.

Can't speak on behalf of the Syracuse offer, but, to clarify, that Wisconsin offer was gone long ago. Wisconsin got their OLB (Mason Platter) in February and the class filled before Jennings had committed to NIU.

247 has Reggie Jennings rated as the state's ninth best prospect.

Rivals has Reggie Jennings as the #2 prospect in Wisconsin and Mason Platter at #8 currently. I would be quite surprised if Wisconsin has completely filled their class. Offer "long gone?" Are you a Wisconsin hoops insider and a football insider? Most coaches do not share this kind of information with the public. Good luck this season. Wisconsin would have a completely filled class at 18 at this point.

I live in Wisconsin, and it's pretty common knowledge up here that their class is full. They only have 16 seniors on their roster, and 2 or 3 of them are walk-ons (I think).

Yep, hate on Carey all you want, but he's put together one of the most impressive recruiting classes we've had in a long time. Now, as always with recruiting it's all speculation until they prove it on the field, but we are winning some recruiting battles that we've usually lost. Good sign.

What I've been reading about FBS coaches is that they'll expect committed players to sign in December or they'll recruit other players at that position through the February signing date. Obviously P5 schools have more leverage but the consensus is that December is becoming the new signing date.
