Demise of Scout?
Auction postponed till next week.

I find this part interesting:

Quote:"Scout's most valuable assets are the contracts it has with its team site publishers. More than 100 publishers operate subscription-based websites on Scout's network that cover individual college teams and high school recruiting and host popular message boards.

CBS intends to purchase at least some of Scout's publisher contracts, but the two sides have not yet finalized which publisher contracts would change hands if CBS won the auction."

So they are interested in the publishers and not the forums.

The SJSU moderator is telling everyone. Don't worry, they will be bought and the forum will continue. Dunno if that is a smart or just lazy.

Yeah it's nice over here.

Yeah it's nice over here.

Besides, I have to stick around and accrue my 200 posts so I can pass judgement on my fellow posters with the +- button.

Seriously though, this may be a better place for the boards to be. There may be more inter-conference interaction here.

Well you should inform the moderator JacksonMoore. Here is the thread where I asked. He thinks it's honky dory for Scout

Zip him a PM linking to the thread I linked to. Tell him I said even if he is 100% confident that Scout will take care of him and that board, it cost him nothing to have an emergency escape hatch here.

Yeah it's nice over here.

For the WAC we are somewhat of an after thought over there. The only reason the WAC board continued was because some of the mods have a soft spot for it and it is currently they place to talk conference realignment on Scout.

Several posters of the new WAC had inquired about starting scout sites for there schools when conference was shook up. They were told to start their sites on Proboards or somewhere else. Those sites have not done well and are not used.

Here on CSN I can see boards developing more. Regardless of what happens to Scout I hope this will eventually become the new place for the WAC.

I guess it's not so much the Titanic sinking as it is them making us walk the plank.

I understand CP's point about individual school sites. For one, when the board loads, we can all see the last posted topic in each school's board, which helps. On Scout we have links, but have to go snoop around members' boards separately.
Will be interesting.

Lastly, I see an Android app available for this forum. I'll check it out more a bit later.
