Reference my earlier post. This is how Mike Wobschall of Vikings.com sees it.

What do you expect out of Taylor Heinicke in 2017? Will the Vikings depend on him as the No. 2 QB behind Bradford if Teddy isn’t able to play?
I expect he’ll compete for the No. 2 job this offseason but I do not assume the Vikings will hand it to him without having a competition for that spot. The Vikings could add another quarterback or two via free agency, the draft and/or undrafted free agency.

Because they spent good money and draft picks for Bradford, I don't see them using an early pick for a QB when they really need some help on the O-line. That and they traded their first round pick to get Bradford. To me that means it will likely be a fourth round pick or later for a QB. As for free agents, here is the list of who is available. I would not be surprised to see them go after one of these guys. Some of them would obviously have no interest in coming to the Vikings to be a backup -- Cousins being a good example -- but I could see some of the others being enticed to make the move.
Age listing as of Sept. 1, 2017.
Kirk Cousins, QB, Redskins. Age: 29. ...
Brian Hoyer, QB, Bears. Age: 31. ...
Mike Glennon, QB, Buccaneers. Age: 27. ...
Ryan Fitzpatrick, QB, Jets. Age: 34. ...
Geno Smith, QB, Jets. Age: 26. ...
Nick Foles, QB, Chiefs. Age: 28.
Matt Barkley, QB, Bears. Age: 26.
Ryan Mallett, QB, Ravens. Age: 29.
I think they see TH as the backup, but they are going to ensure he has some competition for the job. It will be interesting to see who they bring in.
