Here in Mississippi, we don't wait for FEMA or any other agency to help when something like this comes up, we just roll up our sleeve and get busy.

But the Salon story is obvious partisan BS designed to shed a negative light on a Trump administration barely a week old. I didn't vote for Trump (or Clinton), but I am getting sick of the fake news surrounding this election, inauguration and new administration. Trump was sworn in Friday, the tornadoes happened over the weekend, the requests for disaster relief came Monday and he signed the documents Tuesday. Sounds pretty timely to me, but again, if no FEMA ever showed up here, we'd be fine.

Nothing like people looking for a good disaster to help advance some political narrative. The people affected by these storms are too busy trying to get things back to normal to worry about this kind of media garbage.

Part of the problem is the fact that the vast majority of people don't know what FEMA really is and what it does. FEMA is doing exactly what it is supposed to do in these types of situations. The fact that a county commission chairman doesn't know is surprising up until you do a little research and uncover the fact that Dougherty County is a deep blue county and said county commission chairman is a democrat. Then it becomes very clear what's going on.

Fitfails are so much fun.

Wonder why they didn't have a problem with the Obama administration's FEMA going over two weeks without action but are so upset that it took FEMA under Trump's administration three days to act. Last time i checked three days was far fewer than two weeks.
