I called it a coin flip earlier. Roos struggling since Martez's departure, but Lopes only have one true road win (UTRGV) all season & Russell likely has a fracture in his shooting hand. Matchup of the night will be Martin on Boyd. If Gerard wins that battle (i.e. keeping Boyd under 20), I think Lopes can outscore the rest of the Roos' roster & get out of KC with a win.

Obviously want to see GCU pull out the win, but it could be an around ugly game either way.

GCU crapped all over themselves in this one @ UMKC. Two games behind NMSU now for the WAC regular season conference championship. Braun looks bad out there. Russell is the only one that looks good for GCU. If you guys lose to Chicago State this weekend your quest to win the WAC is pretty much done IMO.

I think your being too kind in your assessment. The quest for the WAC 'ship has sailed on Lopes. Any more talk from players or coaches about it is just silliness. Majerle should use rest of the season to figure out what he really has in younger players.

If you really can't get the team to execute things you work on everyday in practice, as he has inststed after both wins and losses this season, changes need to be made. Whether it's players, coaches, or both, somethings gotta give. There is no excuse for dramatic lapses in energy, effort, attention & attitude we've seen from Lopes this year.

It's pretty embarrassing. To continue talking about a WAC championship at this point would border on delusional.

I'm glad I missed this game after what I have read of late and like gleadley GCU is out of the WAC Reg Championship race unless NMSU drops 3 games in the WAC. Here's to hoping Damari, Kenzo, and Oscar take over next year. Onto another CIT for our Lopes!

RE: GCU vs. UMKC...
I think it's too early to write off winning the WAC regular season championship. However, Majerle and his players need to shut up and stop talking about winning it. It's borderline embarrassing. At this point if Majerle and his players keep talking about winning the WAC regular season championship I could see your season falling apart since GCU is already 2.5 games back and I don't see NMSU losing 3 games in the WAC. Two, maybe but maybe only one. Someone needs to talk to Braun about his shot from the outside. It might be due to injury but his 3 point shot form is weird now. Perhaps it's due to the leg injury. Also, Kenzo, is a serious chucker. He probably has a good shot but he took some really stupid 3 point shots in that UMKC game that killed them. If GCU can't win road games vs. a team that NMSU trounced twice already there is no way I see them winning the WAC regular season championship.

CSUB is the team that could give NMSU a run for their money for both the regular season and tourney WAC championship. I don't see GCU beating them either. I think GCU has a better chance of beating NMSU at home than CSUB since GCU gets so hyped up and prepared for us. You need to do the same vs. CSUB or they are going to sweep you guys as well.
