OMG hysterical. Some of it I honestly think was the actual stuff being said (especially the parts by Pence).

The Melissa McCarthy as Spicer skit is one of the best political skits SNL has done in a long time:

RE: Something a tad lighter
Heard this one today when looking at a 'new' used vehicle. Was looking at Jeep SUVs and I heard this one in back of me:

Putative Buyer: I really like this one. Is this called the Elizabeth Warren model?
Salesman: Huh?
PB: Its called a Cherokee and its all white.

I had to walk away really fast and bite my lip really hard. The salesman tagging along with me let go with a serious belt of laughter.

The buyer had to have come into the dealer with this line already teed up. No way was that an 'off the cuff'.....

Sometimes, very rarely, I can effectuate a veneer of diplomacy. My years of being a pariah (politically) in California have taught me well for Austin.

Will get back to other threads tomorrow, but I thought this clip was appropriate for Veterans day. Both genuinely funny, but with a nice message we should all probably heed.

Weekend Update: Pete Davidson Apologizes to Lt. Com. Dan Crenshaw - SNL
https://www.youtube.com/watch?time_conti...KaakjMVtyE

Crenshaw may be my new favorite Republican.

That was awesome -- one of the best things I've seen in years. Thanks for posting it.

Crenshaw was way, way more forgiving than I would have been able to be. Of course, he's got a chance to make a name on national TV, so it was a good opportunity. I would have passed.

I have to give kudos to SNL as well. The message from *both* was immeasurably healthy.

Crenshaw may be my new favorite Republican.

Crenshaw wrote an op-Ed for the Chronicle about the decision to go on SNL. Oddly enough, he promotes the same sort of ideas that Beto did regarding civility and how to approach the other side. Good to hear.

That op-ed was run in the Wash Po as well.

A friend attached this to an email they sent to me, unsure of the original source.

Quote:I bought a purse that has a small amount of python on it.

I was provided an official “certificate of source” for it because if I cross into California— the purse can be confiscated by law.

Imagine a state that has sanctuary cities but demands birth certificates for purses.

What is the difference between Nathan Phillips and Jane Fonda?

Jane Fonda actually went to Vietnam.
