Trump is very Clintonian in that manner (Bill not Hillary). They both really enjoyed the schmoozing aspect of the job and were relationship builders.

Often times a persons public output will be a lot different than in private. You start from the position of being strong (public view) then once you get behind close doors you understand sometimes you must back off. With every deal both parties usually give up something to get it done. But if you sit down with that mean public SOB and see a difference side that is willing to talk about what your needs are...

right off the bat, you have the feeling you won something.

In business it's a give and take on making deals. I bet President Trump knows this side 100% better than our last President. Other areas he will be well behind. But in business you must be able to read the room....change it if you don't see what you need. That's not a weakness. It's a gift. But most people on both sides just don't understand this. Give and take, then be strong/firm when needed.

Joking about what? Obama didn't try to build relationships and felt that everyone should just bow and do his bidding. Trump is first and foremost a salesman. He knows how to build relationships, you know, the whole Art of the Deal thing.

Yep. Even with his early majorities he got little accomplished, and what he did get done cost the dems dearly in mid-term elections.

I honestly don't know the answer to this question because I really did not care for the day to day crap. So can you point me to a link where President Trump said anything about skin color?

Nothing. But they did say something about the fact that trade between the US and Canada was balanced and Canada was the largest export market for 35 states.

Of course they are being charmed. He has a master's in BS and a minor in lies. Too bad Obama wasn't as good at those things.

Well, the three countries that he has played nice with are Canada, Russia, and the UK.

I don't think too highly of his policies in several areas (and he needs to know when to shut up), but he seems to play the game "straight up". Obama was a bit more vague and shrouded than Trump.

In two months, we'll probably know what he thinks of everyone. We are going to have clear friends and enemies.
