Over the past year or two Rubin has been publically coming to grips with this. He has admitted in the past that he always considered himself a liberal, but in fact has awoken to the fact his beliefs are more in line with libertarianism.

I don't think his views have changed, he has simply been squeezed out. That's his point. The regressive left is purging itself of anyone that believes in classical liberalism in favor of regressive, identity politics. If they keep at it, eventually they will cannibalize themselves (it's already happening, white women couldn't hold leadership positions at the Women's march) and nothing will be left of the Democratic party.

Tom will say he is no longer gay.

I guess I worded that poorly... we don't have much of a disagreement here. His definition of liberalism is different than what it means to leftists. His thoughts are more in line with "Classical Liberalism", ala individual freedom and small government.

Looks like Tom has someone else his "community" will have to deal with.

What's funny about that missive is that any number of us on this very board could have or have been saying much the same thing. The left isn't "liberal" any more, it's leftists. Statists, anarchists, flat-out unapologetic communists.

I've said this several times before- one need look no further than the reception Jim Webb got in his 30 second Presidential campaign. He's a classic liberal/democrat. There's certainly NO room at the Inn for him any longer.

He may consider himself a liberal, but his positions sound more like a card carrying libertarian.

10-15 percent of LGBT persons voted for Trump. There's always the one or two.

The_Donald has this thing where they upvote a particular picture enough so that when you search a term on Google images, the picture they upvoted will show up as the #1 match.

I think it should be done with this picture for the term, "LGBT Heroes".

So does anything top a bisexual black Muslim transsexual who doesn't have a ****** and is being left out at a (liberal) women's rally in the wake of an orange alpha male president's inauguration? Maybe if the rally and inauguration were held in the deep south?

Any supporters of Hillary Clinton are fake Liberals. Bernie is a true Liberal, and Hillary supporters turned on him, and his supporters and attack them. I have been verbal abused by Hillary supporters on Facebook because I did not vote for her. Hillary is a Dino. She is more of a Neo-con like John McCain. True Liberal policies is for the betterment of all, not just a select few which the Democrats have done in the last 40 years or so. The Democratic party have lost their way. That is why I am an Independent Liberal because I hate what the Democratic Party have became.
