Yeah, Pitt just got swept by GT and has lost 10 of their past 12 ACC games.

Pitt is trying to make the ACC tourney for the first time.

Great story on UVa's baseball stars Haseley and Smith and one of the reasons for their outstanding season.

Cards take game 1 at Clemson ... 4 - 2 ...

Kinda sloppy game, and it never felt like the Cards really got dialed in, but they hung tough, and pulled it out.

13th straight win for the Cards.

21 - 4 in conference now. 44 - 6 overall.

Big road win to open the series in Clemson. As mentioned, it was an ugly game with errors on both sides and many men left on base, but the Cards got outs when needed. UofL has a five game lead in the Atlantic with five to play.

Our main competitor now for the top spot in the ACC is NC in the Coastal who's 19-5 in conference, we are now 21-4.

Cards come back being down 4 - 0, to score 6, and pull out game 2.

Cards now 45 - 6, and 22 - 4 in conference. Clinch third straight Atlantic Division title.

Game 3 tomorrow.

I have to say, I knew Louisville could compete in ACC baseball but I didn't expect to dominate our first three years in the league!

Louisville won the Atlantic by 8 games in 2015, 6 games in 2016, and lead the division by 6 games with 4 to play in 2017.

Louisville won the Atlantic by 8 games in 2015, 6 games in 2016, and lead the division by 6 games with 4 to play in 2017.

Since joining UofL has won 26 series counting this one over Clemson -- with 10 sweeps the first 2 years and already 4 (maybe 5 today) this year. The overall record is 47-13 the first 2 years and stand at 22 and 4 this year, with 4 games left. It's interesting that they have now won at least the regular season division each year in ACC (with total league in 2015) and then also won outright in their last 2 conferences since 2013 -- with a joint win in 2012.

McDonald has just been unbelievable coming in here as a brand new head coach for the first time in his career and started winning right away, going to the CWS his first year. Now after 11 years, the man is truly a lifer -- he will not leave until retirement. Our last 4 basketball coaches have been the same way -- staying throughout their careers to the end -- and we also have lifers in men's soccer and ladies basketball. I actually even think Petrino is now a lifer in football --

Those are all tremendous accomplishments & I hope that he is lifer but there is also another glaring stat that I hope that he corrects this year, he is 0-6 in CWS games. To be considered an elite coach you have to do something in Omaha.

Incorrect.

Cards knocked Mississippi State out of the College World Series, 12 - 4 in 2007.

Dan is 1 and 6.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2007_NCAA_...rld_Series

That, of course, DOES need improvement.

UVa Cavaliers thank you. I was not convinced before but now I know that Louisville and Carolina are the two elite ACC teams this year.
