Oral Roberts - Can lightning strike twice? WAC poach Summit AGAIN?
With North Dakota Summit-bound, ORU's peers now consist of 4 Dakotas, IPFW/iUPUI, WIU, Denver and Omaha.

One private (Denver), one geographical rival (Omaha).

WAC gives Oral Bob a closer geographical rival (UMKC) than anything offered in Summit.
WAC's trek to Illinois is IN Chicago (Chicago St) not middle of nowhere (WIU).
NMSU offers more hoops history and current cache than anyone in Summit.

ORU would trade roadtrips to:
- Denver
- Omaha
- Indiana
- Dakotas
for:
- Seattle
- California
- Phoenix
- Utah
- New Mexico
- Texas (where they recruit)

ORU's big on baseball. WAC weather must be significantly easier to recruit to than Summit weather. WAC needs a baseball school.

Is Oral Roberts poachable? WAC brings short term fun but Summit provide long term stability.

After Oral Roberts disastrous move to the Southland, I have the feeling they are not going anywhere anytime soon. Perhaps the WAC can sweeten the pot by inviting another Midwest-Mideast team to join with them. SIUE? Lipscomb? New Orleans? .......Probably not, but if UC San Diego doesn't pan out the WAC may be looking in that area to give UMKC a possible travel partner (depending on what happens at Chicago State).

I have a list that I created of possible D2 call ups or other D1 football schools that wanted FBS as expansion candidates.

http://davids-davidsthoughts.blogspot.co...g-wac.html

I updated the list. Many of the Lone Star Conference D2 schools have been looking into moving up to D1. My alma mater have been rumored lately that they want to go to D1 as well and only place for them would be the WAC for now.

Come down from those smoke-filled hills north of town. Arkansas Tech moving to D1 is just not ever going to happen.

It could be possible. I mean the Southland and the WAC are to totally different conferences with two different focus. Southland is a FCS football focus conference. WAC is focused are all other sports that ORU plays.
It depends on if ORU wants to get more exposure in the west. I'm guessing that if ORU gets in the WAC then New Orleans could be behind them if CSU isn't renewed or NMSU leaves.
