With nearly 250 k ticket saless just for hockey, America's hockey leader for years running, that is much more revenue than most G5 schools see. Students even have to pay for their hockey tickets, as they aren't free for them. That arena hosts many other concerts, circuses, and other events such as a regional figure skating event this weekend that will attract five thousand or so. The money raised goes to the charitable foundation.

What the....You know we pay are basketball coach damn near 3 million right???

http://sports.usatoday.com/ncaa/finances/

Wichita State - $26,682,738
Illinois State - $26,316,799
Missouri State - $25,180,896
North Dakota - $24,287,775

UND's budget is over $30 mill if the charitable trust that pays arena costs and salaries and gets 2/3 of ticket sales is included, which it will be eventually. Arena seats 12k at almost $40 a pop for 20 games, which almost always sell out.

UND mens hockey has a bigger budget than Wichita St MBB. Much of it doesn't show up on the books, but will later when UND takes ownership of that arena, which is now owned by the charitable trust.

And yet UND are still hurting for money, as is the state of ND who have again told UND to cut their budget. WSU's budget does not include either FB or a money hungry sport like hockey. Your continued skewing of facts isn't going to change the fact that UND are not going FBS and are not going to a new WAC. Of course, neither are the Montana schools or anyone else you have mentioned in your years long crusade to make up facts.

And yet, UND still offers FCOA for all sports. If money is so tight, why dont we drop that and become like S Dakota St. Both schools offer way too many sports too.

NDSU has FCOA, and hasn't cut any sport like we have baseball. A move to the Slummit would only save up to $800 k, so doesn't begin to pay for cuts of 5%.

Our IAC has recommended higher ticket prices, as hockey has stong demand and a waiting list for sEason tickets. .It also wants a higher take from the arenas charitable trust.

I asked a simple question and i'm not sure what you are talking about. NDSU is funding FCOA due to private funding sources not affiliated with state or university funding/expenditures.

So i'll restate my question. How is UND funding FCOA? I really don't remember.

I answered that above. But with the state now cutting 15%, NDSU hasn't cut anything, but your President is trying to cut and run to Ohio U.

Regarding budget cuts at NDSU. Not sure what they will do however I am sure that it will not involve cuts to athletic sports or FCOA (since that is privately funded).

That being said, i'm not sure why we are even talking about NDSU. I asked a simple question about funding and your typical response is the same old vomit that you typically spew regarding NDSU 03-puke

Personally I can't wait until 1:30pm today so that we can hear your new theories about the FBS WAC and UND once they announce acceptance to the MVFC.

Brave Prediction Time. After today's announcement, NoDak/SiouxVolley will no longer be seen or heard from on Internet forums. Every theory he has espoused over the last 5 years will have been proven false. He will have no choice but to disappear or take on a new handle.

I said the Big Sky would take N Colorado before the XDSU'S. That gained me plenty of enemies even though I was right.

I said UND was going to the Big Sky years before they went. That was laughed at by posters like you, even though I was right.

I said the Big Ten would sponsor hockey well before Pegula showed up at Penn St. That was laughed at and ridiculed.

I said UND and Denver would work to form a new hockey conference even before the Big Ten aponsored the sport. I was a meanie to many hoc, eyes posters.

I am used to being ridiculed, as I don't think like an average person,

Wichita St will be a conference football mate of UND. I guess that's a further reason to hate my postings.

UND provides all scholarship athletes with a 100% of FCOA. I answered that question, but an NDSU poster said I didn't because he has a problem with my postings and all UND people.

Well, given the nature of contracts, usually 4 or 5 year minimum, this locks UND in FCS at leats until the middle of the next decade. Officially NoDak/Siouxfan FBS schemes for UND are dead, deader, and among the deadest, dead.

RE: North Dakota to Summit League and MVFC
SDSU are fiscally responsible and have brought in FCOA (using private funding sources) gradually. Our basketball programs are full FCOA today. In football we are giving FCOA in certain conditions to some players but we are not 100% FCOA in FB as of today. The goal for FB and downstream sports is full FCOA being online within the next 2 years. We did just build a new FB stadium and new IPA and are in the process of beginning full Frost Arena (basketball) renovation. Unlike UND we know how to manage a budget, long term and short term. We don't just jump and hold a press conference every time NDSU make an announcement (see UND and USD FCOA announcements).

I know how NDSU is funding FCOA, private sources. I know how USD is funding FCOA, student fee increases. What is UND's plan? Seems to be a moving target.

FYI, welcome to the Summit and MVFC 02-13-banana

http://sports.usatoday.com/ncaa/finances/
