Like I said ... the ACC scheduling office is pathetic and plays favorites for UNC in particular.

03-lmfao
Carolina doesn't get a bye week until Nov. 4 (after consecutive games with Dook, at Georgia Tech, Notre Dame, UVa, at Virginia Tech and Miami) when we are already beaten up before going to play a physical Pitt team and that's playing favorites?

A what kind of Pitt team?

Beat Alabama and no one will question your strength of schedule, that's for sure!
(Plus, you put the biggest threat for #1 seed behind you; it would be sweet justice if FSU played in the Sugar Bowl and bumped Alabama to the Rose Bowl!)

we also get Miami and Louisville at home...

Clemson and Florida on the road might be tough. Clemson is Watson-less now though...

Francois with some experience now should be dangerous though

Q: What did Boston College do to avoid the bye? Maybe Ga Tech needs to look into it too?

Maybe it is due to weeknight games? Just a quick glance, with the exception of Louisville, it looks like the teams with the most also have year ending OOC games, and sometimes bye weeks or 1AA games before then, which puts their conference games in a closer proximity to each other, during the bye season. Louisville contradicts that, but we've had a lot of weeknight games, which I assume plays a factor. And teams who play weeknight games, I'd assume they try to avoid having a team on a short week, play a team coming off a bye.

This is just a guess though.

Just to be clear: the issue is not when teams get a bye - it's why is GT so often the very next opponent after the bye?

RE: ACC Football Schedule released today
Checking my records since 2011, there were 65 occasions when an ACC team had to face a league opponent who was coming off a bye week, not counting those games where both teams were coming off a bye. Interestingly, the team coming off the bye won only 31 times and lost 34. So it doesn't seem to be much of an advantage.

Virginia Tech played the most such games, with a record of 6-3. Wake Forest was next, with 8 games played, but they didn't fare so well (2-6). Florida State (6-1) and Georgia Tech (3-4) were next, followed by Duke (3-3).

Adding in the 2017 season, now that we have the schedule, following are the total appearances by school in these games. If you are one of the five schools at the top of the list, complain to the league office. If you are Louisville, keep hiding in the tall grass and say nothing.

Georgia Tech.......9
Virginia Tech.......9
Duke.................8
Florida State.......8
Wake Forest.......8
Clemson............4
North Carolina....4
NC State............4
Pitt...................4 *
Syracuse............4 *
Virginia..............4
Miami................3
Boston College... 2
Louisville............0 *

* not in conference the entire period

It appears 2017 will feature UNC vs. State and Duke vs. Wake during rivalry week. This has been the case before, but I'm surprised the conference is gambling with the potential UNC vs. State rematch the next week in the conference title game. 04-wine

Dalvin Cook is amazing.

But I think you'll find someone to fill his role. You're FSU after all.

FSU's O-line couldn't pass protect last year and a lot of dumb penalties. i think the team lost its best WR in addition to Cook.
