MyBB 5 Mid-Majors Who Look Ready to Bust Brackets in the 2017 NCAA Tournament
http://herosports.com/news/2017-ncaa-tou...basketball

"Aside from Gonzaga (whose mid-major status is somewhat questionable at this point), UNC Wilmington could be the best mid-major team in the country. The Seahawks have landed. They currently sit atop a very competitive Colonial Athletic Association with a perfect 6-0 mark, and they are 17-2 overall.

If they can sneak past a pesky College of Charleston team and get an NCAA bid, watch out. The defending CCA champions feel like they have unfinished business after last season's eight-point loss to Duke in their 13 vs. 4 matchup. A win would've meant another very winnable game against Yale. They were a popular upset pick last year, and if they land in the a similar spot this year, expect the same.

C.J. Bryce, Chris Flemmings, Denzel Ingram and Devontae Cacok make-up the core of this bunch. The Seahawks are long, fast, strong, have excellent guards, and are very well coached.

Head coach Kevin Keatts has been a blessing, as the Seawolves are 43-12 since he arrived two and a half seasons ago. They were just 28-78 in the six years combined prior to Keatts arrival."

Who will ultimately wear that glass slipper? Only time will tell. But if any or all of these teams get an invite, expect them to make a serious push.

Thank you so much for posting this. I had a friend who, after I claimed that UNCW is the best mid-major in the country, seriously tried to argue that Gonzaga is the best mid-major in the country without even questioning their mid-major status. This quote helps solidify my case:

Quote:"Aside from Gonzaga (whose mid-major status is somewhat questionable at this point), UNC Wilmington could be the best mid-major team in the country.

I emailed the author & informed him of the error of his ways. He responded by saying he gets UNCW confused with a AA baseball team named the seawolves.
Sorry but that excuse just doesn't get it considering what is going on with this team's success. So - my response to his response?

The Erie SeaWolves are the AA (two levels below MLB) affiliate of Detroit.
