RE: Game Thread: UAB vs FIU
When our conference is as bad as it is, we are likely going to suffer a loss like this almost yearly. We don't have the type of talent Memphis did and no team is going to run through the conference the way they did.

Basketball is the flukiest of sports in my opinion when it comes to bad teams beating good teams. All it takes is one player getting a hot hand to completely change a game. Their shooting percentages were through the roof last night. Some of that was on us, but not all of it.

We are still growing every game, and will be every game from here on. You look at the tape, learn from your mistakes, and move on. At the end of the day, we are in the same situation we were before this loss.

RE: Game Thread: UAB vs FIU
Some positives were evident on the offensive side.

Fifth most points of the season. Against FIU
The trip produced the third (FAU) and fourth (FIU) best shooting percentages of the season.
We have shot over 50% for 4 straight games.
FIU was tied for third most threes in a game
FAU was second best three point % and FIU tied for 4rh best in the season.
FIU tied for third fewest turnovers in the season.

There were defensive problems, but five gamEs ago our offense was in a pit, and we seem to have turned that around.

Help us, Coach Clark. You're our only hope.

No. Nobody here expects to lose to fiu, but bad teams beat good teams all the time in basketball.(and we don't really know how "good" we are). A bad loss in prior cusa versions was generally to a team in the 100-200. Now, our conference schedule is full of 200 and 300+ rpi teams. When you have to play these teams consistently on the road, you are eventually going to hit a bump in it. The only thing we can do at this point is look to the next game and hope we fight our way into a top 4 spot for the tournament. It was always going to be win The tournament or go home, so we are playing for seeding.

Being realistic about where the team stands does not mean our expectations are there.

Any word on Hak?

Javien and Tyler will probably see the biggest jump in minutes, but I suspect Deion will be pushing 30 mpg while Hak is out. Deion's play has earned more minutes anyway.

With the way Haha has been playing lately, I wished we made more of a point to involve him on offense. Feels like when we push tempo on opponents' misses, Haha gets his opportunities in transition, so it's not surprising that Haha disappears on a night where the other team shoots 65%
