I know it happened in the comics. The only episode I recall from either "G1" cartoon series was a Cobra Commander spotting in one Transformers episode in I want to say S3 (but might have been a late S2). And it didn't really put the "GI Joes" in it"

As far as the take on the performance of the two GI Joe movies... I think in the transition to live action they went a little "too" sci fi in the first one. The 2nd one was a better overall movie. Personally, with all the main characters for the Joes and the Cobras they could have a good "all star" movie and it shouldn't be too hard to do as long as they stay away from Serpentor, Cobra La, and some of the crazy stuff Dr. Mindbender got into as well as some of the off characters like Croc Master, Big Boa, and Raptor(?).

I've never thought that either made for solid Big screen movies. Now I've read that Hasbro was going to do something with Mask and Visionaries. That might be interesting.

?

Transformers live action? With all the spectacle stuff in movies now... surely you jest.

GI Joe... lots of military movies.... terrorist organizations... it fits... but I think they would have to lessen some of its more sci-fi elements to make it work...

Last I heard of the Hasbro stuff was early last year. Can't find the source, but I do remember seeing something about the transformers jumping in somewhere. I think it was an interview or something about what an actor or director thought would be cool. I shrugged it off as nonsense as I can't stand any of the movies so far.

"THR is reporting Paramount has struck a new deal with Hasbro’s Allspark Pictures to unite five of the toy company’s brands into one shared cinematic universe. G.I. Joe and Micronauts will be joined by Visionaries: Knights of the Magical Light, M.A.S.K. (Mobile Armored Strike Kommand), and ROM The Spaceknight in Paramount and Hasbro’s shared universe."
